Earthen Textures With Gratitude Cards
For this third pair of cards from my Earthen Textures LIVE Class, I CASEd a cool card design from Sandy Carlson. I love this type of layout because you can find little coordinating scraps of Designer Series Paper and make an awesome backdrop for your focal point. I think it looks especially nice with the pots and leaves from the Earthen Textures Dies.
Background Basics
I started by adhering a 4-1/4″ x 2″ piece of Pebbled Path cardstock onto a Gray Granite card base. I added a 4-1/4″ x 1/2″ strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock across the top of the Pebbled Path piece.
Next, I gathered 1″ x 2-3/8″, 1-7/8″ x 2-3/8″ and 3″ x 1-3/4″ pieces of the Earthen Elegance DSP and adhered them onto a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ piece of Moody Mauve cardstock. It’s popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals.
Pretty Pot
I die-cut a small Pebbled Path pot with the Earthen Textures Dies, then embossed it with the diagonal cross-hatch texture from the 3D Basics Embossing Folders (an Online Exclusive). I also die-cut a Misty Moonlight fan leaf and a sprig in Copper Clay. I adhered those to the back of the pot and popped it up with Dimensionals onto a Gray Granite Stylish Shapes circle die-cut. The whole focal point is mounted onto the card front with SEAL Adhesive.
Finishing Touches
I stamped the Earthen Textures sentiment in Moody Mauve ink onto a 3/8″ strip of Basic White, trimmed the ends into a banner shape, then adhered it across the pot with SEAL Adhesive. I finished with a few Pebbled Path In Color Dots floating around the focal point. Fabulous!
Two Cool
The second card uses the same basic layout using Countryside Inn DSP and coordinating blues! I started with a Misty Moonlight card base, and added a Night of Navy panel at the bottom with a Boho Blue strip across the middle.
The DSP has the same measurements as above, this time mounted onto a Balmy Blue background.
Pretty Pot
This time, it’s a Night of Navy pot with a Boho Blue fan leaf, Balmy Blue sprig and Misty Moonlight circle. I mounted the focal point to the left side of the card this time to mix it up.
Finishing Touches
The sentiment is stamped in Balmy Blue ink and I added a few Iridescent Pearls for a little shine. Loveliness!
