Retired Stamps & Accessories—While Supplies Last!

Hi Stamping Friends!

I'm so sorry about being away from my blog all this week and I appreciate all of you who have expressed concern about my absence.  I've been in bed sick ever since I mowed and bagged leaves in my yard last weekend.  Those dang mold spores get me every time!  I should have worn a mask, because once I breathe in those little irritants, I'm immediately down for the count.

One awesome thing about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator that works to my benefit…job flexibility!  It's so nice that whatever is going on in my life, I have the flexibility to work my own schedule, at my own pace. Not many jobs allow you the luxury of taking time off to recuperate from an illness.  It's certainly a nice perk of being my own boss. Of course, now there's lots of catching up to do!  LOL!  So, let's get to it!

First, a few house-keeping notes…

NEW 2014-2015 Annual Catalog Timeline

As we make the transition from retiring products to new catalog, here are some important dates to keep in mind when planning your purchases:

Good To Know!—You can purchase both retiring items (if they are still available) AND new catalog items between June 2 at noon and June 4 at midnight (MT).  Too Cool!

20140602_AnnualCatalog_en-US-CANEW 2014-2015 Annual Catalog Unveiled!

Demonstrators from all over the country gathered in movie theatres in 35 cities around the United States for the Catalog Premiere last Monday night. Wow!  That sounded like an amazing event!  Although I did not attend, several of my Too Cool Demo Team were there to enjoy the festivities and share in the excitement of the unveiling!

I finally got to see the new catalog online yesterday and I can't wait to get it in my hands!  It's got a brand new catalog layout to make it easier than ever before to find the products you need to create projects that are Too Cool!  If you look closely, you can see a few of the new products on the cover! >>>

NEW In Colors Coming Soon: You are gonna love the new In Colors: Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon, Tangelo Twist , Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.  I can't wait to start playing around with fresh new color combos featuring these colors.  I'll be sharing more when I get my pre-order delivered!

Request Your Catalog!  If you would like a copy of the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog, and you are not already being served by another demonstrator, please email a request to me and I'll be happy to get one to you as soon as they are available!  If you're local, I will also have catalogs available to pick up at all my events, or at your convenience, beginning May 8, 2014.

Lattice quilt - two cool

Today's project is one of the projects from my "Last Thursdays" class last week.  It features several soon-to-retire products along with a cool technique that will inadvertently be retiring, too.

Lattice quilt - white lattice kind

The technique is called faux quilting or embedded embossing and, although you can achieve a similar look with other embossing folders, the best results have come from the heavily patterned Square Lattice Texture Impressions Folder.

Lattice Die Quilt—I started by die-cutting a 4×4" sheet of Very Vanilla and a 4×4" piece of the retiring Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper with the retiring Lattice Bigz Die.  The interlocking circular pattern makes a fantastic backdrop for flowers and provides an awesome pattern for this faux-quilted look.

Two Cool Options—Once you've die-cut both sheets, you now have enough parts and pieces to create two cool faux-quilt cards with opposite patterns.  For the first card, I used the Very Vanilla base lattice shape and filled in the holes with the Eastern Elegance DSP pieces.  They are all adhered with a 2-Way Glue Pen onto a 3-3/4" square piece of Crushed Curry Card Stock.

Lattice quilt - cabana lattice thinking

The second card features the opposite left-over pieces: Eastern Elegance lattice base with Very Vanilla pieces to fill the holes.

Lattice quilt - white lattice kind 2

In-Laid Patterns—Once all of the pieces were glued into place, I ran the entire piece through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  The complex texture embeds the pieces for an in-laid look.  The soft, flexible texture also looks quilt-like.  So pretty!

Lattice quilt - white lattice kind 3

I matted the embossed piece onto a 4" square piece of Coastal Cabana, then added a strip of the retiring Coastal Cabana Ruffle Stretch Trim along the border.

Sentiment—The retiring Sweet Essentials sentiments were stamped in Coastal Cabana along the bottom.

Sweet Butterflies—I finished off the card by adding a couple of butterflies punched from Coastal Cabana card stock with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  Both are topped with Pearl Jewels.
