Embossed Friends Never Fade With Watercolor Splash

The wait is over and the New Catalog is here!  Time to show you more of the cool stamps that are now available!

We'll start off with a lovely card I created for my Too Cool Demo Swap last week with the new Friends Never Fade set.

I love purples and greens together, so naturally, I was drawn to the new Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz In Colors.  I've used them here with Melon Mambo on a Shimmery White card stock base.  The design was CASEd from Doris Denman.

Stampin' Techniques

I embossed the image twice, once on Concord Crush card stock and once on Shimmery White, using White Craft Ink and White Embossing Powder.  On the white card stock piece, I used the Watercolor Splash technique, similar to my previous Fifth Avenue Floral card.  After embossing, I spritzed the image with water, then added color to each petal section with a brush.

I only had markers of the Concord and Pear colors, no stamp pads yet, so I colored on the top of my plastic stamp case to create a palette of ink.  The flower petals are mailing Melon Mambo, with a touch of Concord Crush, and the center colored in Pear Pizzazz.

Once the splashed image was dry, I cut it out and popped it up with Dimensionals.

Other Card Details: The stamped image is layered on two die-cuts from a brand new Scallop Rectangle Clearlit Die!  It's so cute!  And, two of them, cut from Shimmery White, and overlapped slightly worked nicely to frame my focal piece.  The Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon looks complements the Pear color.  The line of petal images is a stamp from the Because I Care Hostess Set, stamped in Craft White.
