Adorable Owls It's Your Day Extend Card - Granny 1

Adorable Owls Extended Tent Card

This is the final card from my Adorable Owls LIVE Class Kit. Man, oh, man, am I going to miss that Dandy Designs DSP! Seriously, one of the best and most versatile packs of paper we've had in a while. Like the other cards from this class, I paired it with the Adorable Owls character for a super-cute and whimsical birthday card!

Background Basics—My card begins with a 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" Granny Apple Green card base, scored at the 4-1/4" mark. This will provide the "tent" part of the card. I decorated the front with a 4" x 4" piece of Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper.

Exciting Extension—I embossed a 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Stripes & Splatters Embossing Folder, then mounted it onto a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock. I attached the extension piece with some SEAL+ Adhesive for a secure hold. TIP: To position it to fit perfectly into an A2 envelope, I laid the bottom tent card onto a traditional 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card, then attached the extension so it was flush to the top of that card, while being centered over the tent.

Next she mounted the stamped layer onto a Mango Melody Scalloped Contours die-cut label and added a 3-1/2" x 3/4" piece of Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper across the middle. The focal point was mounted onto the card front with Dimensionals, positioned so the bottom overlaps the inside that shows.

Adorable Owl—I stamped the Adorable Owls image in Memento Black onto a Basic White Something Fancy die-cut. It's colored in with Stampin' Blends Markers: Soft Suede for the outer feathers, Crumb Cake for the inner feathers, Pool Party for the eyes & hat, Granny Apple Green & Fresh Freesia for the hat, Pumpkin Pie for the beak & feet. I added some Wink of Stella glimmer on the party hat and eyes. It's popped up with Dimensionals onto the extension layer.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Adorable Owls sentiment in Memento Black onto a Basic White Stylish Shapes banner die-cut. It's popped up, too. If finished by adding a few Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels, to perfectly match the colors in the Dandy Designs DSP. So sparkly!

Adorable Owls Birthday Card

Kelly Acheson created this sweet Adorable Owls birthday card with many of the same features as my card above.

Background Basics—Her card begins with a 4-1/4" x 7-1/4" piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock, scored at the 5-1/2" mark. She decorated the short front panel with a 1-1/2" x 4" piece of Dandy Designs DSP.

Adorable Owl—Next, Kelly stamped the Adorable Owls image in Memento Black ink onto a 3-1/2" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White. It's also colored in with Stampin' Blends Markers: Soft Suede for the outer feathers, Crumb Cake for the inner feathers, Pool Party for the eyes, Pool Party & Fresh Freesia for the hat and Daffodil Delight for the feet & beak. I added some Wink of Stella onto the hat and eyes, just because I had to…LOL!

She mounted the stamped piece onto a 3-3/4" x 3" piece of Fresh Freesia, then tied some Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon around the layers before mounting it to the card front panel with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—Kelly also stamped the sentiment in Memento Black onto the Stylish Shapes banner, this time in Fresh Freesia cardstock. It's popped up under the ribbon to look like a tag. So cute! Like my card, she finished with a few Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels. Nice!
