Fall Trendy Trees Paper Hills Card

Trendy Trees Fall Hills (2)

Fall is my favorite theme for the Trendy Trees stamp set—leaves in oranges, yellows, reds and browns!  I created this card for my workshops last Fall using Dusty Durango, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Kraft colors!

Rolling Paper Hills Details: I wavy-cut one piece of Old Olive Patterns Designer Series Paper in half with the rotary cutter from the Cutter Kit.  This is a handy little tool for making freehand cuts (the Kit comes with scoring, perforating and distressing tools, too).  For depth, I sponged a bit of Old Olive ink on each piece before layering them.  I marked where I wanted to stamp my trees so I could plant them properly along the curve.

For the finishing touches, I used the Paper Piercing Tool for some details on the upper corners and under the 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon.  The words are from an old Rub Ons set, but you could easily use Chit Chat or Chat Room Rub Ons to find something appropriate.

Winter Trendy Trees Masked Hills Card

Trendy Trees Winter Snow (2)

You don't always have to use the leaves…try bare trees for an early-evening, wintery scene!

Masked Hills Details: Create two masks: a 1/2" circle for the moon, and another wavy-cut piece of copy paper for the hills.  Use some Dotto (or another repositionable adhesive) on the back to keep the masks in place.  I sponged Bashful Blue around the moon and along the hill on the horizon line.  Then I changed the paper's position to create another hill (you can't see this one as well unless you click to enlarge).  Finally, I sponged on Bordering Blue (retiring soon) along the top of the scene (you could also use a brayer).  My trees are stamped in Handsome Hunter (retiring soon) and Night of Navy inks.

Finished off with a greeting from Warm Words punched with the Modern Label Punch and highlighted with a Circle Ice Rhinestone Brad.

May the rest of your week be all down hill from here!

~Angie
