Fall is right around the corner, so I've been having fun with the new autumn-themed products from the NEW Holiday Catalog. Today's projects feature some beautiful die-cuts from the Detailed Leaves Thinlits dies.

Falling For Leaves Grateful Heart Cards
Along with the pretty fall leaves, I enjoyed playing with color on these cards. With the new Color Revamp in the new Annual Catalog, we now have some new "colorful" neutrals: Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow and Merry Merlot. Stampin' Up! made this adjustment to free up some room in the other color families for new colors, and also because these three colors often act as a neutral. After playing with some different color combinations, I completely agree! Night of Navy reminds me of blue jeans…and we can pretty much wear any color with those, right? So, I tried the other two colors as the base of my cards to see how they measured up!
Background Basics—I started by embossing a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Mossy Meadow with the new Swirls & Curls Texture Impressions Folder. I wrapped some Gray Granite Texture Weave Ribbon around the front, securing the ends behind the textured layer with Tear & Tape. I used more Tear & Tape to mount the piece onto a Mossy Meadow card base.
Lovely Leaves—I die-cut the leaves with the Detailed Leaves Thinlits dies. The Pool Party and Gray Granite leaves were cut with the more intricate dies, and I used the Precision Base Plate for best results. Next, I stamped the Falling For Leaves outline leaf image in Pumpkin Pie ink onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock, then die-cut it with another Detailed Leaves die.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Falling For Leaves greeting in Blackberry Bliss ink onto Whisper White, then die-cut it with the Stitched Shapes circle. The intricate die-cuts were adhered to the back of the sentiment, then it was popped up with Dimensionals. The Pumpkin Pie leaf was attached with a couple of Glue Dots. I finished by adding a single Adhesive-Backed Sequin for another pop of color.
Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Falling For Leaves stamp set and Detailed Leaves Thinlits together in a Bundle to save 10%.
Two Cool—For the second version, I tried Merry Merlot as the neutral background. I used the de-bossed side of the embossed background for a little different texture, and wrapped the same Gray Granite ribbon around the layer.
Lovely Leaves—I kept the same colors for the Pool Party and Gray Granite intricate leaves, but changed the smaller leaf to Pear Pizzazz. I thought these colors really popped against the burgundy background!
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment in Poppy Parade on this one, and added another green sequin.
