Hi Stamping Friends!
Last week, my Too Cool Team and I got together for a fancy fold shoebox swap and it was so much fun! I love how cool folding techniques make a handmade card even more special! My contribution to our swap was a Four-Fold Card design spotlighting the gorgeous Falling In Love Designer Series Paper pack.
Housekeeping Note—You may notice that I'm doing a little tweaking, moving around & updating on my blog to create a better online experience for you. For example, my Current Events & Current Promotions links that were located at the top of my posts have been streamlined down to two links, now located near the bottom of the post. If you subscribe to my blog, you will notice some changes to the look of my email, as well. If you have any problems viewing my original blog post or the email version of the blog post, please contact me to let me know.

Falling In Love & Special Reason Four-Fold Card
The Four-Fold card is a definite "Wow" card for the recipient, making it ideal for special occasions or that special someone! I learned this lovely fancy-fold card design from Lyssa Zwolanek at Song of My Heart Stampers. You can see her Four-Fold Card Photo-Tutorial for easy, step-by-step directions for making this card base.
I love the layered look of the front of this card! It's a wonderful way to showcase coordinating patterns of Designer Series Paper, like I did here with the Falling In Love DSP. All the measurements are listed later in this post.
Card Front Accents—If you use lots of DSP on this card you'll only need a few additional accents to complete the card. I finished my front by stamping a flower image from the Special Reason stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum, then die-cutting it with the coordinating Stylish Stems Framelits. The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases, stamped in Tip Top Taupe onto a 3-3/4" x 5/8" piece of Very Vanilla and fishtail cut on the end. I popped one of the flowers up with Dimensionals, and topped them both with Pearl Jewels.
Open the front of the card once, and you have two panels showing. I decorated with one simple accent—a Sweet Sugarplum die-cut using the Stylish Stems Framelits. Adhere it by sponging Multipurpose Glue onto the back.
Then, pull the card completely open and…
…WOW! It just keeps going and going! Too Cool!
There is so much room to decorate the panels any way you like! Add more stamped images, or sentiments to suit the occasion. It's a great card layout to accompany a gift "from all of us," because there is plenty of room for signatures! This card also fits perfectly into a standard A2 envelope, although you will likely need extra postage on this one if you plan to mail it. Depending on how you embellish it, it may work best as a hand-delivered card.
Inside Card Accents—I stamped the "Marriage is a Journey" sentiment from Flourishing Phrases in Tip Top Taupe onto Very Vanilla card stock, then die-cut the shape with the Stylish Stems Framelits large label die. The final panel has a 2-3/4" x 4" Very Vanilla panel stamped with another Flourishing Phrases sentiment in Tip Top Taupe, and a matching Sweet Sugarplum flower image from the So In Love stamp set. Don't you LOVE how so many different stamps & dies & papers coordinate so well together?! That's why Stampin' Up! is so AWESOME! So much versatility!
Create & Decorate Your Own Four-Fold Base Card
Four-Fold Card Base Basics—Lyssa has a great photo tutorial, but here are the basics to get you started:
- Start with a 11-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock.
- Along the 11" side, use the Simply Scored tool to score at 1/4", 3-3/4" and 7-1/4"
- Along the 5-1/2" side with the 1/4" scored panel at the top, score at the 5/8" mark down to the last score line only.
- Trim off the 5/8" wide panel you just scored with Paper Snips.
- Accordion-fold the panels as shown so that the 1/4" tab is on top.
- Adhere a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of card stock to the 1/4" tab to create the card front with Multipurpose Glue or Tear & Tape Adhesive.
- Trim off the extra little tab piece at the top with Paper Snips.
- Decorate!
Measurements For DSP & Mats
- Card Front & 2nd Panel—2-1/2" x 4" for mat. 2-3/8" x 3-7/8" for DSP.
- 3rd & 4th Panel—3-1/4" x 4-5/8" for mat. 3-1/8" x 4-1/2" for DSP.

How cool though the person your link goes to is someone I discovered in a blog hop and keep following her and come to and she has a great twist and pop tutorial that I enjoyed as well
I wondered if you are both in the same area?
Hi Lynn! No, we are not in the same area, but she’s an awesome lady and demonstrator!
