Feathery Friends You Are Amazing Cards

The Feathery Friends set is another one of this year's exclusive host stamp sets that can be earned with a workshop or individual order of $150 or more. These sweet images are perfect for coloring!

Background Basics—I stamped all of the Pool Party card base with two of the Feathery Friends images using VersaMark ink for a very subtle pattern.

You can see the background images, the 5-petal flower and the curved flower stem, a little better here. I cut a 5-1/4" x 1-1/4" strip of Vellum card stock and fishtailed the ends with super-sharp Paper Snips. It's adhered in the center of the card base with SNAIL adhesive. Then I added a Delicate White Doily over the top, also with SNAIL. This creates a pretty foundation for the focal point.

Coloring—I stamped both of the Feathery Friends birds in Memento Black Ink onto a Whisper White oval die-cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits. I also stamped the flower onto scrap Whisper White card stock. Using a Blender Pen and ink smooshed onto the lids of the Classic Ink Pads, I colored the images with Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist, Crushed Curry, Peekaboo Peach and Berry Burst.

Assembly—I die-cut a scalloped oval with Berry Burst card stock using the Layering Ovals Framelits, then cut the oval in half length-wise and re-positioned on the top and bottom of the colored oval to create decorative edges. These layers are popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals. The flower was hand-cut and adhered with SNAIL at the bottom of the oval.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink onto a 3/4" wide strip of Whisper White, then trimmed the ends into fishtails and popped up onto the top of the oval. What a fun card design! Thanks, Stampin' Up!

Too Cool—I created a brighter version using Lemon Lime Twist as the card base.

This time, the images are colored with the same colors with a heavier emphasis on Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst. The oval is layered with a Pool Party scalloped oval.
