Hi Stamping Friends!

Let's take a closer look at project #2!

Winter scene - two cool

With all of the cool tree styles in the Festival of Trees photopolymer stamp set, I knew I wanted to create a wintery snow scene card!  I used the realistic pine tree image combined with the ultra-sparkly Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for the snowy landscape.

Winter scene - left two

Background Basics—I started with a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Lost Lagoon as a foundation for my scene layer.  On the top half, I adhered a 3-3/4" x 3-1/2" snowy-looking, All Is Calm Designer Series Paper.  Then, I stamped the Festival tree to one side near the bottom of the DSP in Old Olive ink.

Snowy Hills—Starting with a 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, I used my Paper Snips to cut a gently curved edge to represent the flowing hillside. TIP: Take care not to cut the hill down too far…you want your stamped tree to be partially hidden behind the hill.  You can always cut more off if you need to.

Washi Tape Accents—I adhered the Glimmer Paper with Sticky Strip to the bottom half of the card front, then added a border with some All Is Calm Washi Tape.  TIP: The tape doesn't stick to the Glimmer Paper, so I wrapped the ends around the edges to secure them to the back.  After all of that was done, I adhered the scene layer to the Basic Gray card base.

Punched Trees—I stamped the Festival of Trees pine tree image in Old Olive ink two times onto a scrap piece of Whisper White.  The trees were punched out with the coordinating Tree Punch, then popped up with Dimensionals in a staggered position.

Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Festival of Trees stamp set and Tree Punch together in the Festival of Trees Bundle and save 15%!  That discount is included in the price of my kit!

Winter scene - left two 4

Sweet Sentiment—The Festival of Trees set comes with a two-part greeting.  I stamped the first part in Basic Gray onto a 1/2" strip of Whisper White, then fish-tailed one end and popped it up at the top of the card with Dimensionals.

Winter scene - right two

There isn't much difference in my second card…I just tried a steeper cut on my hill and moved the trees around a little.

Winter scene - left two 5  Winter scene - right two 3

The Guts—Don't forget to decorate the insides!  I used the scraps left over from trimming my snowy hills to create mini hills along the bottom.  How cute! The second part of the greeting is stamped in Basic Gray and says, "for lots of joy at Christmas."
