Bloom & Grow With Woven Heirlooms Cards
I paired the pretty Bloom & Grow Bundle with the fun textured frames from the Woven Heirloom suite for a pair of lovely thank you cards in my LIVE Class yesterday.
Background Basics—I started by die-cutting a piece of Seaside Spray gingham pattern from the 2019-2021 In Color 6×6" Designer Series Paper using the largest Stitched Rectangles die. It's adhered to a Thick Whisper White card base.
Fancy Frame—I used the Heirloom Frames Dies & Embossing Folders to create a pretty Seaside Spray textured focal point foundation. To create the frame, I die-cut the frame first, then ran the die-cut frame through the die-cutting machine with the coordinating folder.
Embossing Folder TIP—Janet Shinn recently shared an awesome tip for lining up the die-cut frame in the Heirloom Frames Embossing folder. She adhered the inside of the die-cut to the de-bossed side of the folder with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Then, whenever she wants to emboss, she simply positions the frame over the rectangle like a puzzle piece for perfect alignment every time! Too Cool!
Don't Forget The Embossing Plate—If you're using any of the 3D Embossing Folder from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, they are in the NEW style and are just a little thinner than the old Sizzix brand ones. You'll need to purchase the blue Embossing Plate (149658) to achieve the correct plate thickness with your die-cutting machine.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Bloom & Grow sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink onto a 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Whisper White, then adhered it with SNAIL adhesive onto the card front. I popped up the frame over the top of it. I also added a Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon bow to the top of the frame with a Glue Dot. I finished by adding a few Basic Pearl Jewels around the sentiment.
Focal Point Floral Spray—I stamped the Bloom & Grow floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White and colored it in with Stampin' Blends Markers. The flowers were colored with Purple Posy Combo, Light Rich Razzleberry, Light Granny Apple Green and Dark Seaside Spray. I finished the blooms with some Wink of Stella sparkle, then die-cut and mounted the image with a combination of SNAIL and Dimensionals.

Two Cool—My second version starts with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the Tufted 3D Embossing Folder. It's mounted with Tear & Tape onto a Thick Whisper White card base.
Fancy Frame—I used the oval Heirlooms Frames in Purple Posy cardstock on this version, and added a 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Purple Posy gingham In Color DSP to the center.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Bloom & Grow sentiment in Gorgeous Grape onto Whisper White cardstock, then die-cut it with the Stitched Rectangle dies. There wasn't a size of rectangle that perfectly fit this sentiment, so I created my own shape with the help of the dies (see how below). I layered the sentiment onto an Ornate Frames die-cut in Seaside Spray, then popped up the layers with Dimensionals. I adhered a coordinating Gorgeous Grape Striped Ribbon bow at the top of the frame.
Altered Die TIP: I used a long, skinny rectangle to cut the three sides of the sentiment, then a positioned the outer edge of the rectangle die on the fourth side and ran it through the die-cutting machine a second time to cut away the excess, while leaving the cool faux-stitched border. Too Cool!
Floral Spray—I stamped this floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Seaside Spray, Light Rich Razzleberry, Light Bermuda Bay and Dark Granny Apple Green.
