First Frost One-Layer Stamping Cards

I LOVE the First Frost stamp set and the coordinating Frosted Bouquet Framelits for making gorgeous groupings of flowers. On today's projects though, I wanted to create something a little more simple, without the die-cut flowers. I discovered that the beautiful flowers and leaves images are so amazing on their own, too! These cards are NOT part of my First Frost class, but they would be so easy to duplicate if you order the First Frost Class-To-Go Kit.

Background Basics—I started by embossing a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Blackberry Bliss cardstock with the Subtle Texture Impressions Folder. I used a couple strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive, combined with SNAIL, on the back to mount it to a Blackberry Bliss card base.

Floral Layers—I started by stamping the largest flower from First Frost in Blackberry Bliss onto the lower left corner of a 2-7/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Next, I added two smaller flowers in Blushing Bride on each side. Finally, I used the tall leaves image to fill in the spaces along the edge with Old Olive foliage.

DisINKtive Details—Take close look at the images and you'll see that they are DisINKtive stamps! The intricate dot-pattern gives the image a very detailed look featuring lots of shading and depth. I love this new stamp style! We'll be seeing this style in the photopolymer stamps coming with the Occasions Catalog in January! Yippee!

Finishing Touches—I stamped the First Frost sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink in the open space, then mounted the layer onto a 3" x 4" Copper Foil piece. After tying some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the layers, I popped it up with Dimensionals. I love that the ribbon gives a little extra texture, but you can still see the pretty flowers through it. So sweet!

Two Cool—My second card begins with a Night of Navy background Subtle embossed layer and card base.

Frosted Florals—For this card, I stamped the large flower in Night of Navy and the smaller flowers in Coastal Cabana. The sentiment was also stamped in Night of Navy. I layered it on a Silver Foil piece this time, too.
