First Frost Simple Stamping Cards
One of the themes at our recent OnStage LIVE event was to get back to simple stamping. Simple isn't always easy for me, but I've been trying to get back to doing more and more cards focusing on stamps, ink and paper. Today's First Frost cards do just that!
Background Basics—I wanted a clean look for the background, but I still wanted some texture, so I started with a 4" x 5-1/4" panel of Blackberry Bliss texture embossed with the Subtle Dynamic embossing folder. I adhered it with a combination of Tear & Tape and SNAIL adhesives onto the Blackberry Bliss card base.
Simple Stamping—For the focal point, I began by stamping a First Frost sentiment in Blackberry Bliss ink onto a 2-7/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I decorated the corner with a pretty floral bouquet of stamped images. First, I stamped the large First Frost rose in Blackberry Bliss, then added the two smaller roses in Blushing Bride ink. I finished the look by stamping the leaves images all around the roses in Old Olive ink.
Finishing Touches—I mounted the stamped layer onto a 3" x 4" Copper Foil to add some shine. I finished by tying some Whisper White Tulle Ribbon around the layers, then popping it up with Dimensionals. So sweet & pretty!
This time, I stamped a different greeting in Night of Navy ink. The flowers were also changed to Night of Navy for the large rose and Coastal Cabana for the smaller roses. Finally, I matted the stamped layer on a Silver Foil panel to coordinate better with these cooler colors. I love blues and greens, so this one is my favorite. Which one do you like best?
