Background Basics—The first card begins with a 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" strip of Soft Suede striped Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper adhered to a Blackberry Bliss card base. You'll receive a 1/2 pack of the pretty Frosted Floral DSP in your class kit!
Fantastic Foliage—I inked the tall First Frost leaves image in Mossy Meadow and stamped it several times onto a 3-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White. I kept stamping the image without re-inking, and I stamped the image at different heights. Then, I inked the image in Old Olive and repeated the process. Finally, I inked the berry branch in Soft Suede and stamped that over the leaves three times, all in full-strength ink.
Sweet Sentiment & Ribbon—I stamped the First Frost sentiment in Blackberry Bliss on the upper right corner, then mounted the stamped piece onto a 3-5/8" x 4-3/8" Mossy Meadow layer. I tied some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the layer and into a double knot for some pretty texture, then mounted the layers onto the card front with Dimensionals. You'll receive a 1/2 spool of that pretty Tulle Ribbon in your class kit!
Frosted Flowers—I stamped the larger First Frost flower in Berry Burst and the smaller flower in Blackberry Bliss and Petal Pink onto Whisper White cardstock. I used the Frosted Bouquet Framelits to cut out the flowers. There are actually two framelits in the small flower size, so you can run all of the images through the Big Shot at once! They are popped up with more Dimensionals.
Dis-INK-Tive Details—Look closely and you'll see that these flowers are really detailed! These stamps are part of the Dis-INK-tive stamp line, which offers images with incredible detail. You'll actually see a dot-pattern on the image, just like a photograph in a newspaper, giving it an amazingly detailed look.
I finished up the card by adding a few Pearl Jewels floating around the flowers.
Two Cool—My First Frost Class Kit features two versions of each of 4 card designs. On the second version, I started with a different Frosted Floral DSP pattern in Blackberry Bliss, adhered to a Mossy Meadow card base.
I tried the design with a horizontal card this time, which worked really well. The leaves are stamped in the same colors and in the same way and it's layered onto a Soft Suede mat. Check out the beautiful pearlescent shimmer on that Frosted Floral DSP!
Fabulous Flowers—The flowers are stamped in the same colors, just positioned a little differently.
It's so, so soft and pretty! I simply adore the look of this card, what about you?
