Hi Stamping Friends!
Today, I'm sharing two cool cards from my upcoming Fancy & Fabulous Floral Phrases Class featuring the gorgeous Floral Details die-cuts!
Before I get to today's projects though, I have a quick PSA reminder for my stamping friends today…
Sally Albright may have seemed a little OCD in the movie When Harry Met Sally, but I bet she never receive this dreaded note from the Post Office, like I did today…
Ooops! That's what you get when you're in a hurry. I hope that I just missed one and didn't forget the whole stack that I dropped in the mailbox. Eeep! I guess I'm an embarrassment to the 2 postmasters in my family…sorry grandma and aunt Christine! #NotMyFavoriteStamp #BelatedBirthdayCard #BeLikeSally

Note of Thanks Floral Detail Overlays Card
Those intricate, beautiful Floral Detail die-cuts are SO STUNNING! Simply cut overlays with the small and large thinlits and you have an instantly elegant card! We'll be creating this card at the Fancy & Fabulous Floral Boutique Card Class!
Delicate Die-Cuts—This card begins by die-cutting the top and bottom overlays. I positioned the small and large Floral Details Thinlit dies on the top and bottom of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock. Then I ran them through the Big Shot at the same time. When cutting with the intricate dies, it leaves a straight edge. To make the curvy edge that borders the flowers, you need to run each piece through with the coordinating Floral Details edgelit.
TIPs For Easier Die-Cutting:
- I highly recommend using the Precision Base Plate in place of the bottom cutting plate to achieve the most clean cuts with Thinlits. It is NOT recommended for use with Framelits.
- I also like adding the new Big Shot Platform, which comes standard with any Big Shot purchased after June 1, 2016, to further ensure clean cuts.
- Run intricate thinlits through the machine twice.
- Use the Die Brush to help remove bits of paper from the die and the die-cut itself.
Stamping The Sentiment—Position the die-cut overlays over the 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Whisper White card stock, without adhering them yet, so you can see where to stamp the sentiment. Ink up the long phrase in Night of Navy, then stamp between the die-cuts.
Adhering The Overlays—You can use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the overlays, but my current favorite way is by lightly dabbing on Multipurpose Glue with a sponge. You only need enough for it to be tacky…a little of that glue goes a long way! I love that you don't have to worry about the glue seeping out between the cuts with this method! Mount the card front onto a Night of Navy card base.
Finishing Touches—I added a few Rhinestone Jewels to some of the flowers on the die-cuts. Sparkly!
Inside the Card—I stamped the second part of that sentiment, plus a pretty little border, in Night of Navy ink.

Floral Boutique Thoughtful Things Navy Overlay Card
Oooh, I love the sweet die-cut border on the card front of this horizontal-opening card! We'll be creating this pretty card at the Fancy & Fabulous Floral Boutique Class, too!
Creating The Card Base—The card base is actually a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Thick Whisper White card stock, used as a foundation for a smaller horizontal-opening card mounted on top. First, I scored a 10-5/8" x 4" piece of Night of Navy card stock along the long side at the 5-1/4" mark.
Next, I ran that piece through the Big Shot, fully open, with the smaller Floral Details Thinlit positioned on the card's top border. I finished by running it through a second time with the Floral Details edgelit to get that flowing edge. The finished card is mounted onto the white card foundation. I lined the inside of the card with a 5-1/4" x 3-7/8" piece of Whisper White to show through the border.
Floral Boutique Focal Point—I adhered a 3-3/8" x 3-3/4" piece of Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper on the card front. Next, I stamped the Floral Phrases floral image in Night of Navy onto a scrap of Whisper White card stock. I stamped the sentiment right next to the straight side of the flowers, then die-cut the images with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. It's popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I punched Night of Navy and Vellum Card Stock butterfly layers with the Bitty Butterflies Punch, then attached them with Glue Dots. I added a couple Pearl Jewels, then bent the wings to make it "alight" on the card. Love that little detail!
