This card has a touch of country and a touch of elegance! I love the neutral background with a cool recessed color strip. And that copper watering can is a cool, shabby chic focal point!
Background Basics—This card begins with a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" sheet of Gray Granite cardstock that's scored at the 4-1/4" mark. I cut off a 1" strip from the end of the card front and saved that piece, then cut off another 3/4" strip and discarded that one. To make the recessed color strip, I started with a 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Pattered Party Designer Series Paper. I adhered the DSP onto the back of the shortened card front panel first, leaving about an 1/8" gap from the fold to make it fold easier. Then, I popped up the remaining strip with Dimensionals, so the strip was flush to the outside edge of the card.
Background "Table"—I added a 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Early Espresso across the bottom of the card to mimic a table. Then, I punched a little "doily" for the watering can to sit on with the Tailored Tag Punch. Thanks to Deb Snyder for that cute little detail, along with the copper watering can idea! For sparkle, I colored a couple of Rhinestone Jewels with a Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends Marker and added them to the side.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Flowering Rain Boots sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink onto a Basic White Stitched Rectangle die-cut and adhered it to the top of the card. I thought that kind of looked like a picture hanging on the wall.
Watering Can—I die cut the Copper Foil watering can shape from the Rain Boots Dies, then stamped the Flowering Rain Boots image in StazOn Jet Black over the top. The can is adhered across the recessed area with SEAL Adhesive.
CAUTION: It's good to note that StazOn Ink is permanent like a Sharpie Marker, so the ink will NOT come off of your photopolymer stamp. That is OK, and the image will still stamp just fine after inking in StazOn. Do NOT using a StazOn Cleaner to try to remove the ink, because it will degrade the photopolymer. If you repeatedly ink with StazOn, the sticky ink could build up on the stamp and the image may not be as clear. If you're concerned about using StazOn with your stamps, you can try Memento Tuxedo Black instead, knowing that the ink may smear if not dried thoroughly.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the flowers in Misty Moonlight ink and die cut them with the Rain Boots dies. They are adhered over the recessed area with Seal. I finished by adding a twine bow from the Essentials Baker's Twine Pack with a Glue Dot.
Two Cool—The second card starts with a Sahara Sand card base and a recessed background with a Fresh Freesia pattern of Heart & Home Designer Series Paper. The table is made of Blackberry Bliss this time.
Sentiment & Flowers—Both the sentiment and flowers are stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink this time. No doily this time. I finished by placing the rhinestones floating the can.
