Hi Stamping Friends!

I had the pleasure of stamping with several of my Too Cool Team members last night during our September Shoebox Swap.  Our theme was Fall, and everyone's projects were fantastic!  I'll be sharing them in future posts, but today I thought I'd start with my contribution to our swap!

First, a couple of announcements…

For all things shoe - two cool

My Too Cool Team Fall Shoebox Swap card featured the For All Things set.  I had the team do the simple version, then I tried a stepped-up version with my all-time favorite technique.

For all things trio

Background Basics—I started with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock, which I stamped with the Hardwood background stamp in Sahara Sand ink.

TIP: For background stamps, I like to ink the stamp, turn it rubber-side-up and lay it on the table, lay the card stock over the top, and burnish over the entire piece to transfer the ink.

For all things shoe - trio 3

Trio of Leaves—I stamped the beautiful oak leaf in Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss onto a piece of 2" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla card stock.  It's mounted onto a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cajun Craze.

Washi Tape Accents—For some coordinating color, I added two strips of the Color Me Autumn Washi Tape across the bottom of the background, then I adhered the piece to a Blackberry Bliss card base.

Finishing Details—After adhering the leaves layer to the card front, I stamped a For All Things greeting on the background in Blackberry Bliss.  I finished off the card with a Gold Metallic Button and a Linen Thread double-bow.

TIP: I used Glue Dots to attach the button to the card and, instead of threading the button with the Linen Thread, I tied a bow separately, then used another Glue Dot to adhere it to the top of the button.  Saves the hassle and looks like it's tied through the button!

For all things shoe - resist

For the second card, I experimented with the Emboss Resist Technique.

For all things shoe - resist 2

Emboss Resist—First, I stamped the Dictionary background in Sahara Sand onto the 2" x 5-1/4" piece.  Then, I stamped the For All Things leaf three times in VersaMark on the same piece and embossed the shapes with Clear Embossing Powder.

Finally, I used sponge daubers to add Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss colors over the top of the embossed leaves.  Any residual ink is wiped away with a tissue.

Shhh! Secret Mess-Up—I wrapped the layer with a Hello Honey Stitched Satin Ribbon to cover an embossing mistake.  Ooops!

Oh, no!  What happened to my photo's color here…yikes!  Anyway, you get the idea!
