Friends Are Like A Collection of Seashells Cards
I love the variety of shells available in the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set. It makes it so easy to make a collage of stamped and or die-cut shell shapes. Here are a pair of cards with another way you can stamp and feature a whole collection of shell images.
Background Basics—I adhered a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper onto a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Basic White cardstock. Those layers were mounted onto a Blushing Bride card base. I created a foundation for the focal point by adhering a 4" x 1-1/2" piece of Sahara Sand to the center of the card front. To add some shimmer, I laid down a line of SEAL Adhesive and added a strip of Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon, trimming the ends.
Sweet Seashells—I die-cut a Basic White Hippo & Friends Dies label and stamped a sentiment from the Friends Are Like Seashells in Melon Mambo ink. Next, I stamped the large shell onto the label for placement in Sahara Sand, then added more shell images in Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand and stamped-off Melon Mambo. I stamped the large shell again on scrap Basic White, die-cut and trimmed it and adhered it over the already-stamped shell on the label. The label is popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I finished up by adding a few Opal Rounds for that awesome look of sea glass! Pretty, pretty, pretty!
Two Cool—I used the other side of the DSP for this second version. The card base is Melon Mambo and the foundation panel is So Saffron.
Sweet Shells—This time, I stamped the sentiment in Blushing Bride and added So Saffron small shell images surrounding. The large shell is stamped in full-strength Melon Mambo, then I added more shell die-cuts in stamped-off Melon Mambo and So Saffron under the label. I love this brighter look, achieved with just a few subtle changes.
