Party Wishes—From Simple To Spectacular!
Whether you are a beginner or seasoned stamper, you'll find the perfect Stampin' Up! stamps & accessories to make hand-made cards that are just your style! Today's projects show how easy it is to create a simple card that's quick & cute, or step up the same basic design to make it spectacular!
#1 Party Wishes Birthday Cake—Simple
If you have a simple style, or maybe you just need to make a birthday card really fast, this first card is quick & cute!
Background Basics—There are only two layers to this card: the Mint Macaron card base and the 3-1/2" Whisper White stamped layer that is attached with two pieces of It's My Party Designer Washi Tape. EASY!
Birthday Cake—The Party Wishes cake image is stamped in Calypso Coral and the birthday sentiment is stamped over the top in Real Red.
Candles—The Party Wishes candles were stamped in Mint Macaron onto Mint Macaron card stock, then punched with the Party Punch Pack candle punch. They are adhered with a 2-Way Glue Pen. DONE!
#2 Party Wishes Birthday Cake—Stepped Up
Background Basics—This card adds some patterns and textures to the background to help step it up. I added a 4-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Mint Macaron card stock embossed with the Confetti Textured Impressions Folder along the bottom of the Mint Macaron card base. Then, I adhered a 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of It's My Party Designer Series Paper.
Did you see how HUGE that It's My Party paper stack is? It includes 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 double-sided sheets in a 12×12" size! Wow! That will make lots of birthday cards and treat bags!
Birthday Cake Accents—The birthday cake and candles are stamped exactly the same, then I added a few accents to give it a little more pizzazz! A strip of striped It's My Party Washi Tape and some two-tone Baker's Twine across the bottom add some patterned interest. And, I added a bit of shine with some Metallic Sequins adhered with Glue Dots.
#3 Party Wishes Birthday Cake—Spectacular
Background Basics—I took it up another notch by changing some background elements on the third card. Starting again with the Mint Macaron card base, I added a 4-1/4" x 4" piece of It's My Party DSP and a strip of the It's My Party Washi Tape to the background.
Confetti Oval—The stamped layer was increased to a 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" size, then embossed with the Confetti Texture Impressions Folder to create a focal spotlight.
Birthday Cake Sparkles—The birthday cake starts the same, but I stamped the sentiment again on Whisper White and hand-cut out the "birthday" to highlight it. I also used the awesome Wink of Stella clear shimmer brush over the words and cake base.
Ribbon Accents—To make the card really festive, I hung a strip of Silver Sequin Trim at the top right with a Glue Dot, then added a two-tone Mint Macaron Baker's Twine bow over the top with another Glue Dot. How fun!
Finishing Touches—I finished the card with a few floating Rhinestone Jewels. I love how a few well-placed accents can really turn a simple card into a spectacular one! Which style do you like best?
Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
