Please note: Too Cool Stamping has temporarily changed it's name to Too Hot Stamping!
It's 108° in Fort Wayne, Indiana today! That is a record high on this day, and all I can say is WOW! It truly feels like I'm baking when I let my dog out. I have never loved my A/C more than today! Whew! Thank goodness my basement is nice and cool for my "Last Thursdays" card class tonight!
Needless to say, with this hot weather draining my energy, I wanted something quick and easy for today's post. I opened up the Annual Catalog and found a beautiful card to CASE on page 138 for my Two Cool cards.
I started with a card base of Primrose Petals card stock, texture embossed with the Framed Tulips Impressions Folder. Then, it was time to build some layers!
I added a Midnight Muse card stock background first. Then, I used the Labels Framelits to die-cut a leafy print from Twitterpated Designer Series Paper.
The stamped images is From My Heart, colored on the stamp with Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Lucky Limeade Markers, stamped on Whisper White, then die-cut with Apothecary Accents Framelits. I stamped the "enjoying" part of the stamp on scrap card stock, then cut that word out and popped it up on another layer.
Don't miss the awesome paper piercing details on the accent! I used the new Paper Piercing Essentials templates, mat and piercing tool…and boy, oh boy, those tools make it easy for professional piercing results!
I used one of the three templates that matches the Apothecary Framelits.
Simply lay the outline printed on the template over your die-cut, and with your piercing mat underneath, poke through the holes. Such an easy way to add some detail!
The second card is similar, but I used a different sentiment from From My Heart, so I needed a slight design change.
I kept the Twitterpated Labels Collection die-cut background, then added two more consecutively smaller die-cuts from the same Framelits set. Although there isn't a shape on the Piercing Essentials templates to match the Labels shapes, I pierced around the shape free-hand.
Instead of the Midnight Muse background, I added a small banner layer that really draws your eye to the sentiment. I used the 1" Square Punch to make the fishtail ends.
Both cards are finished off with some Pearl Jewels.
I completed both of those cards in just 30 minutes—No Sweat!
