Sunshine Wishes Embossed Blooms Card

The easiest way to add color to Embossing Paste is simply by adding a drop or two of Refill Ink color to the paste and mix it with a palette knife.  This project uses several different colors: Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum!  You'll need to mix up a little of each color, just like you would for cake frosting, and clean the mask and palette knife thoroughly between color applications.  This card takes a little time, but it's SO worth it for the finished look!  I especially love the Shimmery White Embossing Paste, giving each bloom a little sparkle!

Retiring Products: Sweet Soirée Decorative Masks, plus the In Color refill inks.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Mix up some Shimmery White Embossing Paste with 1 drop from each Refill Ink (Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach & Sweet Sugarplum) using the Palette Knives.
  2. Lay the floral Decorative Mask down on the 5” x 3-3/4” Whisper White layer and apply each color of Embossing Paste allowing them to dry about 1 minute each.
  3. Scrape the edges of the cardstock removing any Embossing Paste that’s sticking over the edges before it dries.
  4. Clean mask and knives in-between each color.
  5. Die-cut the Sunshine Wishes “congrats” and the butterfly on Basic Black cardstock in the Big Shot.
  6. Tie Solid Black Baker’s Twine around the butterfly inserting the ends through the loop when you fold the twine in half.
  7. Adhere sentiment & butterfly to the front of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  8. Adhere Whisper White layer to 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" Basic Black layer and then mount both to the Daffodil Delightful card base.

Remarkable You Brusho Embossing Card

Brusho Ink Crystals give a unique burst of color to watercolor card projects, but did you know that it's amazing when combined with Embossing Paste?  This card even uses it for altering the color of the retiring Natural Gold Trim ribbon!  So fun!

Retiring Products: Remarkable You stamp set & 1/4" Natural Gold Trim Ribbon.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Place Pattern Party Decorative Mask onto 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Watercolor Paper. Sprinkle Gamboge Brusho Crystal Color lightly over the mask. Without moving the mask, swipe some Embossing Paste over it using a Palette Knife. Set aside to dry.
  2. Stamp Remarkable You flower image on 2 x 3” Watercolor Paper using Archival Basic Black ink. Color image with Aqua Painter and Brilliant Red Brusho Color Crystals.
  3. Stamp Remarkable You leaf image on 2-½ x 3-½” Watercolor Paper. Color image with Aqua Painter and Moss Green Brusho Color Crystals.
  4. Using the Aqua Painter and Yellow Brusho Color Crystal, color the Natural Gold Trim ribbon. Set aside to dry.
  5. Once all the pieces are dry use Multipurpose Liquid glue to adhere the layers as shown in the image. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the flower onto the leaf image.  The ribbon is attached with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Note: To watercolor using the Brusho Crystal color, sprinkle the powder onto a water-proof surface and add a drop of water to make a “paint.”
