Cool! Those Copper Foil gears make this Geared Up Garage Father's Day card a real stunner! I love the textures, patterns and layers that are all masculine! Change up the sentiment and it would also make a fantastic birthday card for the classic car lover.
Step-By-Step Instructions:
- Fold 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Very Vanilla card base in half at 4 ¼” and adhere a 5-3/8” x 4-1/8” Crushed Curry layer on top with SNAIL Adhesive.
- Stamp the car image repeatedly using Memento Black ink on a 5-1/4” x 4” gray piece of the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper. Then, adhere to card front with SNAIL Adhesive.
- Tear the ends of the ¾” x 3 ½” piece of Classic Garage (yellow map print) Designer Series Paper. Adhere to the front of the card with SNAIL Adhesive.
- Using the Copper Foil Sheets and the largest square in the Stitched Shapes Framelits, die-cut a stitched square and adhere it to the card with Mini Glue Dots.
- Using the Copper Foil Sheets, die-cut the largest of the Garage Geers cog shapes and two smaller ones. Adhere the largest cog die cut to the Copper Foil square using Mini Glue Dots. Adhere the smaller single cog shapes to the upper right and lower left corners of the square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp the Geared Up Garage sentiment on Smoky Slate Cardstock using Memento Black Ink then cut with appropriate Garage Geers die cut.

Here's a fun masculine card for either Father's Day or a birthday! I love the cool black & white checkerboard background that reminds me of a tricked out garage for someone who likes to work on cars! The background is much easier to create that it might appear! Like the first card above, this one has lots of awesome patterns and textures that make it Too Cool!
Step-By-Step Instructions:
- Fold 8-1/2” x 5-1/2” Basic Gray cardstock in half for the card base.
- Lay the Pattern Party Decorative Masks brick pattern over the 5-1/2” x 2-1/4” Real Red cardstock and sponge with Basic Gray ink only around the edges of the cardstock. Leave the center of the piece very lightly sponged, because the sentiment will go here.
- Stamp the Geared Up Garage sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- Die-cut all the gears from the Garage Gears Framelits out of Silver Foil.
- Stamp the Geared Up Garage car on scrap Whisper White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Die-cut the image with Garage Gears dies.
- Color the card with Stampin’ Blends Markers in Real Read, Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight colors.
- Create a Basic Black and Whisper White checkerboard background on the bottom of the card. (See below for complete checkerboard instructions)
- Adhere gears to front of card with Multipurpose Glue, the mount the car over the top with Dimensionals.
- Glue any leftover gears to inside of card for a coordinating decoration.
How To Make Black and White Checkerboard—Mark 6” x 2” Whisper White piece every ½” with a pencil along 6” side (once on top and once on bottom). Using Multipurpose Glue, adhere six ½” x 2-1/2” Basic Black strips onto the white piece in-between pencil marks to create white and black stripes.
Trim down the striped sheet into four ½” x 6” pieces.
Glue these strips onto bottom of Basic Gray card base alternating black and white sections. Trim off any parts that are hanging over the edge.

You are most welcome, Gloria! Thanks for visiting today!
Love this card working on it right now.
My guy would want the card with the car on it. In fact he is working on a 55 Chev from ground up, and he will be painting it a bright red.
Love the checkered board trim on the card. We have a classic car friend who has a garage floor with the black and white flooring.
I got stuck on the brick work and had to come back to read the details again. I will finish it tomorrow if time allows.
Lora, I hope your card turned out great and that your guy loved it! Thanks for stopping by!
