Today, let's get a closer look at another project from my "Last Thursdays" class coming up this week!

From the herd - two cool

I can't believe that the Occasions Catalog is almost over!  I realized this week that I hadn't yet used my adorable From The Herd stamp set, so I knew that I needed to create something for this "Last Thursdays" class.  I've seen both of these cute designs floating around the internet and couldn't wait to try both!

From the herd - looking in

CASEd from Tracie St. Louis at For The Love of Stamping.

How cute are these little animal heads peeking through the fence?!  Love it!  It fits the "just looking in on your" sentiment perfectly!  Haha!

Background Basics—For the fence background, I started with a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Crumb Cake card stock, which I stamped with the Hardwood background stamp in Crumb Cake ink.  TIP: Remember to ink the stamp and lay it rubber-side up on the table and lay your card stock on top to ink big stamps like this.

Window Trio—For the windows, I first punched three sticky notes with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch and used the circles to help position where I wanted to punch my background.  I temporarily stuck the notes to the background for perfect punching alignment.  TIP: You can use only one sticky note…just align and punch the outer two circles first, then the center one.

I added a ton of Dimensionals on the back of the window layer, then adhered it to the Sahara Sand card base.

Peeking Animals—I stamped the From The Herd image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White, then colored in the pig, llama and goat images with Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride Classic Ink Pads and Blender Pens.  I carefully fussy-cut the animals with my super-sharp Paper Snips, then inserted them inside the windows and popped them up with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—The From The Herd greeting was also stamped in Memento black ink, then die-cut with the retiring Word Bubble Framelits.

Finishing Touches—I had a little extra space in my word bubble, so I filled it with an Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower in Blushing Bride and a Rhinestone Jewels.  Sweet!

The inside of the card has the second part of the From The Herd greeting.

From the herd - happy birthday

CASEd from Fran Sabad at Stamper's Blog.

Two Cool—For my second version, I featured the big group of animals peeking into a larger hole in the fence!  I started by making my Hardwood fence slats go in a different direction.  To cover the entire 5" length, I had to stamp twice, but the vertical lines are pretty forgiving when lining them up.  I used the Ovals Collection Framelits to die-cut the window.

From the herd - happy birthday 2

Coloring—I colored the image with Blender Pens and the following inks: Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride, Marina Mist and Crushed Curry.

Sweet Sentiment—This time, I used the birthday greeting with the Word Bubble and the inside says, "from the herd."  What a fun stamp set!  Get it now before it's gone!
