Holy cow! It's October! And, this weekend is the official start of my holiday workshops! While I'm not quite ready for freezing temperatures, I'm so excited to start sharing some of the cool Christmas stuff in the Holiday Mini Catalog! Woohoo!
This is one of the workshop cards we'll be making! It features the individual Christmas Postcard stamp and the Deck The Halls Designer Series Paper and is accented with the new Waffle Paper. I love the vintage feel of this stamp and it goes with the decorative paper so well!
Card Details: I stamped the image in VersaMark on Very Vanilla card stock, then heat embossed in Gold. I wanted deep, rich colors, so I colored the design with Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Always Artichoke, Pear Pizzazz, and So Saffron markers. The edges of the stamped piece were sponged in Crumb Cake ink to add to the vintage feel. I also added a Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border to mimic the ruffle at the bottom.
Waffle Paper: This was the first time I've used this interesting, new, crinkled paper. Waffle Paper is an ultra-thin tissue paper that's great for creating textured layers or even lining handmade gift boxes. Because it's so easy to adhere (I used SNAIL), it's also quickly becoming popular for adding pretty pleats (there's those trendy pleats again!), ruffles, and bows. It's available in two assortments: Silver and Gold, or Black and Brown. I can't wait for you to try it—fun stuff!

Amy create a beautiful pin with the Heated Satin Ribbon Flower technique. Here's what she wrote:
One of your cards inspired me to do something else with the idea. I used your ribbon melting flower technique, used 1 yd. of 1-1/2" double-faced satin ribbon and made a pin out of the flower. I glued it onto a circle of poster board and attached a bar pin. The center is a miscellaneous rhinestone and bead cap I had laying around. Got lots of compliments when I wore it. Also made an ivory one that I gave my neighbor….very vintage looking.
It looks awesome, Amy! I think it would look fantastic as a hairbow, too! (Coincidentally, Amy makes boutique-quality hairbows that are too cute!) Congratulations, Amy!
