Golden Honey Box In A Bag Treat Pouches
It's been a little while since I created a box in bag pouch…have you ever made one?  These treat holders are fun to create and easy to change sizes to hold all kinds of goodies and treats!  I created these pouches as table gifts for a recent Too Cool Team event and it was the perfect way to showcase my two favorite papers from the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper. Box Basics—You can watch how this pouch is assembled on my LIVE video linked above. Here are the basics:
  • Start with a 4" x 3" piece of Basic Black cardstock and score along each side at the 3/4" mark. 
  • Snip the score lines on the long sides up to the intersecting score line.

  • Fold on the lines and assemble into a box, adhering the tabs with Tear & Tape Adhesive. This will form the foundation of the pouch…it's the box in the bag!
  • The pouch is created with a 9" x 4" piece of Golden Honey DSP.
  • Add Tear & Tape adhesive along the edge of one short side and one long side.
  • Peel off the backing of the tape then wrap the long sticky edge of the DSP around the box flush with the bottom of the box.  You'll want to start with the short end that doesn't have tape. Once the DSP is wrapped around the box, the sticky short side with adhere to finish the pouch.

  • Pinch the sides to close the pouch, then use a 1/4" hole punch to punch holes in the top center of the pouch.
  • Tie some Basic Black 1/2" Satin Ribbon through the holes and tie into a bow to close the pouch top.
  • Decorate!

Need A Different Size?—You can easily use this same basic steps to create box in a bag pouches in different sizes. Change the size of the box base, and just score around the edges the same, to create a smaller or larger size. You can also add height by wrapping a taller piece of DSP.

Sweetly Stitched Layers—I die-cut a Basic Black foundation with the Stitched So Sweetly label dies. I love that cool shape and the stitching always makes it look so finished!  Next, I die-cut the Gold Foil honeycomb layer using the Detailed Bee dies and attached it with some Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  
 
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Honey Bee sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and die-cut it with the Stitched So Sweetly label dies. I attached the sentiment with Tear & Tape to the layers, then popped up the whole element with Dimensionals.
 
Finishing Touches—I stamped the Honey Bee bee image in Memento Black ink onto Whisper White and die-cut it with the Detailed Bee dies. I colored it with a Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker, then popped it up with a Dimensional.  I finished by adding three gold Metallic Peals along the bottom of the label.  I absolutely adore how it turned out!  I hope you love it, too!

Two Cool—I did a second version with the gold and black striped DSP.  It's so elegant!  I can see this pouch, maybe sans bee-theme, as a beautiful little table favor for a wedding or bridal shower. I added a Hershey's fun-size candy bar and three Reece's Miniature Peanut Butter Cups, with plenty of room to spare. It's even big enough to hold a gift card!
