I think the Magnolia Lane suite will easily be the most popular from the NEW Catalog! It's easy to see why with the elegant papers and gorgeous floral images! For today's projects, I decided to try the coloring the huge magnolia with Stampin' Blends Markers. The results where stunning! Be sure to watch my Facebook LIVE Replay at the top of this post to see tips & tricks as I create this project!
Background Basics—The card base is a 7*1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Petal Pink cardstock, scored at the 4-1/4" mark along the long side. This creates an off-set cardfront. I added a 1" x 5-1/4" strip of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper along the side of my 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White card inside. I love how this edge shows to the front! So pretty!
Magnificent Magnolia—I stamped the large Good Morning Magnolia flower in Early Espresso ink onto a 3" x 5-1/4" piece of Shimmery White cardstock. I love the subtle sparkle on this specialty cardstock and it looks amazing when you are watercoloring or coloring with Stampin' Blends! I stamped the Good Morning Magnolia sentiment above the flower in Mossy Meadow ink. I LOVE the way the sentiment fits perfectly along the top of the flower image…just like it was meant to be stamped there!
Blends Coloring—To color the magnolia, I started by adding the Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Marker on the inner-most parts of the petals with the brush tip end. I added the Light Petal Pink color next and blended it into the darker color. Finally, I used my Color Lifter Blends Marker to smooth out the color line and blend it into the white at the top of the petals.
The leaves are colored with the Light Old Olive Blends with some Dark Old Olive shading. I colored the branch and flower center with Bronze.
Finishing Touches—After adhering the panel to the card front with SNAIL, I tied some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the card front and added some Pearl Jewels to the center. Gorgeous!
Two Cool—-The second card starts with an Early Espresso card base and a different pattern of Magnolia Lane DSP.
This time, I colored the flower with Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends. Everything else is identical to the first card.
