Hurry, it's your last chance! Today is the last day to purchase items from the Spring Mini Occasions Catalog. The good news is that there are several items that will be carried over into future catalogs. Some of my favorites (thank goodness) are sticking around—Vintage Vogue stamp set, Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder, Two-Step Bird Punch, and Beautiful Wings Embosslit (who knew I would be so butterfly crazy).
There's more…see the complete list of Spring Mini Carryover Items for details.
I didn't see the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel on the list, which makes me Very Sad. I'm also disappointed that the Well-Scripted stamp set, Folk Flowers Stencils and Epoxy Brads aren't on the list, either.
In Memory of Sweet Pea Items…
I knew that the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack and Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Flowers were probably not going to stay, but it's already too late to order these items—Stampin' Up! announced that they are out of stock on these items and will not be ordering more. The Paper Stack was one of the most popular items this Spring, so I'm hopeful that we'll see more varieties of this style in the future.
So, today, in honor of that special DSP Stack that we loved so dearly, and because I really wanted to use up what was left of it before I moved on to the new Summer Mini items, I decided to use it for some simple Thank You cards!
Actually, I went into mass-production mania mode! It all started with this picture from Becky Roberts: Inking In Idaho:
I hadn't yet used some of the papers she had featured, so I decided to see how many cards I could create with two of the designs (four total sheets). I ended up with 27 cards!
They were simple in design, and many are nearly identical. But I did a few variations that I'll show you up close…
Card Details: The basic colors are Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze (coming back soon!). The paper I used from the Stack is really a lighter shade of the Taken With Teal color, but it matched Baja Breeze very well, so I used that instead. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch and Satin Ribbon (which is in the Spring and Summer Minis) for detailing. I had some old leftover Baja and Chocolate felt flowers from last year, so I added those with a Clear Rhinestone Brad. All of the words came from the Thank You Kindly stamp set. On most of the cards, I used the Vintage Labels set (no longer available) punched with the Wide Oval.
There's something very satisfying about making 27 cards in less than 3 hours! And what a great way to use up little extra pieces of coordinating decorative paper. Simple. Easy. Too Cool!
