It's time for another quick & easy Halloween Treat for all your favorite ghosts and goblins! Sandy Haynes presented this project at Ronda Wade's Creative Convention and we did it at our Stamp Club last week!
It's a fun coffin-shaped treat holder created with the Petal Cone Die and featuring the Googly Ghouls stamps! It holds any thin, fun-sized candy, like a Kit Kat, Crunch, or Hershey's chocolate bar.
With a few snips to straighten out the rounded top of the petal cone, it quickly becomes a coffin shape! Emboss with the Spider Web Impressions Folder, then decorate!
I die-cut the Googly Ghouls images with the Labels Collection Framelits, then added another die-cut layer from the Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper (it's cut in half and moved to the edges for a layered look). Then, I tied it with the Basic Grey Striped Satin Ribbon (held in place with a Glue Dot). Don't forget to add the Googlies Eye(s)!
Make Your Own Petal Cone Coffin Treat
- Start with a Basic Black Petal Cone Die shape.
- Fold in half.
- Measuring from the score line at the top of the cone (marked in dotted lines above), cut off the top of the cone at the 1-1/4" mark.
- Cut off the rounded corners from the straight cut you you just made to the score line on both sides.
- Measuring again from the dotted score line toward the pointed end, cut off the point at the 3-1/2" mark.
- Run your die-cut through the Big Shot with the Spider Web Impressions Folder.
- Adhere the side tab with Sticky Strip.
- Fold down the front at the score line and adhere with a Glue Dot or Dimensional.
- Decorate & add your fun-size candy treat!
This is the example that Sandy showed to us. If you get the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Kit, you'll have some left over tags, and that's what she used here. Great idea! Don't let anything go to waste!
