Greenhouse Gala Fancy Flower

When I want a quick and pretty card, I fall back on the awesome patterns of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers to help me out.  Here are a couple versions of an easy-to-make card that I CASEd from Mary Brown at StamperCamper.com.

Greenhouse gala occasions - vertical
Greenhouse gala occasions - horizontal

There is only one stamped image on this card, the words are from the Word Play set.  And, the punches make it easy to create the other elements.  I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch for edge.

Fancy Flower Curved Petals How-To

I punched a Fancy Flower shape from the Greenhouse Gala paper, and sculpted the petals with a Bone Folder.  You could do this by the "curling ribbon" method.  But, to get the curve all the way around the edge of the petal, I used a different technique.  I snipped between the petals, then laid the flower on the foam mat from the Mat Pack.  Using the flat side of my Bone Folder pointed end, I made concentric circles on each petal, working from the center of the petal to nearly the edge.  You can see that in the first card the petals curve downward and in the second card they curve upward.  (TIP: You can use any similar tool with a wide rounded end, like a
Crayola So Big Paint Brush.)  I really like the dimensional look this makes!  Try layering several flower shapes for even more variety.

Other Card Details: Don't tell…I mixed colors!  I used Marina Mist and Early Expresso, and the Gala paper really matches Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip.  *gasp*  I know.  They are very close in color, so I felt like I could let it slide just this once.  Sshhh!

I used the Boho Blossoms Punch and Rhinestone Brads for the flower centers, cut 5-Petal Flower punches to create the leaves, and Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon.

Last Chance For Summer Mini Items!

Oh my gosh!  I just realized that there is less than 2 weeks left of the Summer Mini items!  I can't believe that it's almost over!  I haven't even had a chance to fully use some of my favorite items from that flyer yet…I'll have to rectify that!  Don't forget to order your favorites before they are gone forever!

Stamp with you soon!

Angie
