Hi Stamping Friends!
I like to enjoy some wine with friends, especially during the holidays…how about you? I think that's why I find the Half Full stamp set so appealing. It reminds me of fun & relaxing times with the ones I care about most. Today, I'm sharing a couple of Half Full stamp cards that are lovely "thinking of you" cards for friends this holiday season or any time of year. They are part of my December Stamp-of-the-Month class kit, too!

Half Full Wine With Friends & White Christmas Cards
Today's cards really showcase the fun & versatility of the Half Full stamp set! The images create a nice pattern on the background, then become the focal point and are brought to life with the awesome Stampin' Blends Markers! I also love that the wine & sentiments cover all kinds of celebrations and special occasions, as well as times that are a little more casual! Let's take a closer look!
Background Basics—You can't tell at first glance, but this card has a non-traditional opening. It starts with a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" quarter sheet Basic Black card base, then has a 4" x 10-1/2" vertically folded piece, scored at 5-1/4", of Island Indigo card stock as the actual card. I stamped the wine bottle image on the Island Indigo card front with matching ink. I started in the lower left corner stacking the images and staggering them as I worked from left to right.
Banners—I fishtailed the end of a 1-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock and adhered that banner to the card front with SNAIL. I also made a 3/4" x 5" banner from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper to adhere over the top.
Circle Sentiment Accent—I stamped the Half Full sentiment in Memento Black ink on the top of a Whisper White Stitched Shapes circle, then stamped the wine glasses image underneath in the same ink. If you're using Stampin' Blends Markers, it's recommended that you use Memento Tuxedo Black ink for best results. I colored the wine glasses with the Rich Razzleberry light & dark Blends and added some Bermuda Bay stems with a regular Stampin' Write Marker.
Blends Coloring Tips—I like to start by coloring in the whole area with the lightest color on the brush-tip end, then adding a little shading with the darker marker. Next, I use the light color bullet tip to blend the two shades together. Finally, I use the Color Lifter Marker to add some even lighter accents where I think the light will be hitting the image. I mounted the circle onto the card front with Dimensionals.
Altered Rhinestones—Did you know that you can color Rhinestones with the Stampin' Blends? You can! I created some Old Olive sparklies for the bottom of my focal point! TIP: GENTLY use the bullet tip of the dark color for best results. Careful…you can hurt the nib of your marker if you color too roughly.
Wine Bottle Accent—I colored the wine bottle in the same way as the wine glasses, using Rich Razzleberry markers for the bottle, Old Olive markers for the seal and the light Crumb Cake marker for the label. I hand-cut the bottle with my super-sharp Paper Snips, then popped it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I finished the card with some sweet & shiny trim: a 9" piece of Gold Mini Sequin Trim and a 1/8" Fresh Fig Sheer Ribbon bow, both adhered with Glue Dots.
Inside—I stamped the inside with another sentiment and a larger wine glass. Perfect accents!
Two Cool—The second card begins with an Old Olive folded card front, stamped with images in Old Olive ink.
Banners—The back banner is in Rich Razzleberry this time, and the bow at the top is Old Olive.
Highlights—I LOVE the "dreaming of a white Christmas" greeting! I paired that with the large wine glass colored in Daffodil Delight & Color Lifter markers, then accented with a sprig of hand-cut holly in Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive.
Wine Bottle—I colored the bottle in Old Olive, seal in Rich Razzleberry and label in Daffodil Delight. Notice that I left some of the label without color, then used the Color Lifter to blend the color around it for a bright highlight.
Inside Funnies—The "But if the white runs out, I'll drink red" sentiment is so great! I thought it was fun to have only one glass of white wine at the bottom to bring the punchline home. Haha!
