Hi Stamping Friends!
I saw this card presented by Shelli Gardner at the Convention last month and it was a definite "WOW" card! It has two cool interactive elements! Not only is it a swing card created with the new Thinlits, but she turned it into a cool suspension spinner card, too! Check it out!
CASEd from Shelli Gardner at SoShelli.com.
Isn't it absolutely fabulous?!
The black card base is die-cut with the Circle Card Thinlits and you can position the Circles Collection Framelits to die-cut the center out of the swing element at the same time.
Here's a view of it open! The inside has a 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Witches' Brew Designer Series paper for some pretty, creeepy contrast.
I used another 3/8" x 5-1/2" piece of the same paper along the edge. To add the new Black Glitter, I carefully drew a line with the 2-Way Glue Pen.
The Halloween Hello greeting was stamped in black onto Pumpkin Pie, then die-cut with one of the accessory framelits from the Circle Card Thinlit set. I cut off one side to make it flush to the edge and popped it with Dimensionals.
But, it's the suspended bat image from the Halloween Hello set that is the exciting part! I stamped the bat twice onto Whisper White and die-cut both with the label framelit from the same Circle Card Thinlit set. I adhered them back-to-back, sandwiched around a 2-1/4" long piece of White Baker's Twine.
I have to admit that the suspension part is a little tricky, but if I can figure it out, you can too!
Suspension Spinner Tips:
- Die-cut the circle hole in the swing element with the 1-7/8" Circles Collection Framelit while you cut your card base, or at least before you start decorating.
- If you look closely, you'll see that I have a second black circle under the scallop. Although Shelli's didn't have that, I felt like I needed an extra layer to have enough room to adhere the twine securely. I die-cut the same size Circle Framelit from black card stock, then used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch to make a ring. Use a piece of Sticky Strip at the top and bottom to hold the twine ends, then adhere the whole ring to the swing element. I adhered it to the front, but it would look better adhered to the inside swing of the card.
- Die-cut another Circle Framelit in the same size from Pumpkin Pie, then punch over the top with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch to make the scallop ring. Adhere over the top. Repeat for other side.
