Hi Stamping Friends!
I'll be attending the Indian Springs Middle School Yuletide Treasures Bazaar & Auction this weekend, on November 19. If you are in the Columbia City, IN, area, I'd love for you to stop by my booth and say "hi." If you can't make it that day, I'll also be at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas Craft Fair on December 3. Both are 9am – 3pm.
Today, I'm sharing another project that I'll be selling at my booth. _______________________________________________________________________________
Hang Your Stocking Sticky Notes Holder
I love making these sticky note pad holders with a little mini gel pen! Not only are they cute, but they are so handy to keep in your purse, totebag, or backpack! And, their compact size and design makes them surprisingly sturdy for using every day!
Notepad Basics—I used Office Depot 3" x 3" sticky notes in a pack of 12 and a Mini Gel Pen from a bulk pack of 12 from Staples. Unfortunately, Staples no longer carries this item, so I had to find them on eBay. You can watch a helpful video by Dee Slater at Create With Dee to see how this project is assembled: 3" x 3" Post-It Pad Holder.
Sticky Notes Holder Video Tutorial—See how to create the notepad by watching the Sticky Notes Holder Video Tutorial.
3" x 3" Sticky Notes Instructions
- Start with a piece of 7-3/8" x 3-1/4" piece of card stock. I used Cherry Cobbler.
- Use the Simply Scored tool to score along the 7-3/8" side at the 3-1/8", 3-1/2", 3-7/8" marks.
- Fold on the middle score line and make two snips from the fold to the score line. This will create the pen holder. You can make it as wide as you like. I made my snips about 3/4" apart in the center of the pad. Pop the notch out and fold it into place.
- Read This Step Twice & Add Your Pen To The Notch Before You Do It because it's the trickiest part! Add Tear & Tape Adhesive between the 3-1/2" and 3-7/8" score lines, skipping over the snipped out notch area. Peel the backing of the tape and stick this side TO THE ADJACENT BACK COVER, NOT the other snipped panel! Inserting your pen first will help you see which panels should be adhered together.
- Add more Tear & Tape Adhesive to the back of the pad and adhere it to the inside of the cover.
- Decorate!
Cover Décor—To decorate the front, I adhered a 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" piece of This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper to a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Garden Green card stock. It's adhere to the cover with SNAIL.
Stocking Medallion—I created a foundation for my stocking by die-cutting a Very Vanilla circle and Cherry Cobbler scalloped circle with the Layering Circles Framelits. Next, I stamped the Hang Your Stocking image in Garden Green ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and die cut it with the Christmas Stocking Thinlits. The circle layers and the stocking are both popped up with Dimensionals. I finished by tying a Gold Baker's Twine bow and attaching it with a Glue Dot.
Two Cool—I created a second version of this project using a different pattern of the This Christmas DSP, and swapping the Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler colors.
