Hey Birthday Chick with Cupcake Card #1
I created this cute chick cupcake card as a swap card with some of my fellow demonstrators…what do you think?
Background Basics—This card has a shortened card front with a Coastal Cabana card base that measures 5-1/2" x 7-1/2" and scored at the 4-1/4" mark. I stamped the Hey Birthday Chick confetti image in Bermuda Bay ink all over the top panel, then added a 5-1/2" x 1-1/4" strip of True Love Designer Series Paper along the bottom edge. I added some Playful Pets black & white twine trim around the card, tying it into a knot and fraying the ends.
Sweet Sentiment Square—I stamped the Hey Birthday Chick sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a Basic White Stitched Shapes square die-cut, then layered it onto a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" Poppy Parade layer. It's popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front, so it hangs over the bottom edge just a bit.
Birthday Chick—I stamped the Hey Birthday Chick image in Memento Black onto Basic White, then colored him in with Ivory, Poppy Parade and Mango Melody Stampin' Blends. The cupcake was colored with Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay Blends. I die-cut the image with the Birthday Chick Dies and popped it up with Dimensionals, too.
Finishing Touches—I added a couple Pool Party Holiday Rhinestones above the chick and brushed some Wink of Stella shimmer over the chick image.
Inside The Card—I stamped the Hey Birthday Chick sentiment on the 5-1/4" x 3" Basic White inside layer. I also stamped that adorable little hatched birthday chick image and colored him in with Ivory, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Markers. He needed a little Wink of Stella glimmer, too.
Hey Birthday Chick with Cupcake Card #2
This second card was a swap card that I received from Tracy Jacobs. I love her take on the cupcake chick image!
Background Basics—Tracy's card started with a 5" x 2" piece of Ice Cream Corner DSP layered onto a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White. She tied some Ornate Garden Old Olive Ribbon around the layers and tied them into a double-knot. They were mounted onto a Pear Pizzazz card base.
Cupcake Chick—Tracy used the same Basic White Stitched Shapes square layered onto a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" square of Calypso Coral. It's popped up with Dimensionals. Her chick is colored with Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake and Bermuda Bay. I love that she also stamped the balloon from another Hey Birthday Chick image and colored it with Bermuda Bay to add behind the chick. Perfect!

I was on the fence with this stamp set. Should I buy it? what am I going to do with a chicken stamp? then the crazy hair chicken caught my attention and I started laughing because this chicken goes with the stamp set called “here’s a card” the sentiment that says “Its all messy etc” The crazy hair chicken just puts a smile on my face and makes me happy. How could you not chuckle when you get this chick in the mail? Thanks for all your ideas on these chick card. So glad I followed my heart and bought it…
