Coordination is one of my favorite things about Stampin' Up! products.  I love that many of the products are released as part of a "suite" of products, making it easier than ever to use stamps, papers and embellishments that are designed to go together beautifully. 

But the coordination doesn't stop there!  It's fun to take elements from multiple suites to expand the creativity, and it's always exciting to find new combinations of items that match and look fabulous!

Today's projects combine the stamp set from the Foil Frenzy suite and accents from the Color Theory suite and the results are pretty fantastic!

Happy Birthday Gorgeous Meets Color Theory Card

The bold, gradated color swatches from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack create a wonderful backdrop for the sweet bouquet of flowers from Happy Birthday Gorgeous!  It truly is a gorgeous birthday card!

 

 

Background Basics—I started by stamping the the 5-petal flower from Happy Birthday Gorgeous all over the right side of a Dapper Denim card base in matching ink.  Next, I adhered a 2" x 5-1/2" panel of Dapper Denim "swatch" pattern paper from the Color Theory DSP.  This "stack" of paper is 6×6", so it's perfect for card making projects!

 

Floral Background—I stamped a lovely floral pattern onto a 3" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  There are lots of little stamps used here, but it comes together easily when you break it down into steps:

• Stamp 3 of the larger flower outline image in Dapper Denim in both the top left and bottom right corner.  TIP: I always like to start with the outline image first because it's darker and easier to see through a stained photopolymer stamp.
• Stamp 2-3 of the smaller flower outline image in Dapper Denim on those outer-most corners.
• Stamp the coordinating solid flower images in Pool Party over the top of the outline images.
• Stamp the tiny leaf image next to the flowers: one for the small flower, two for the larger flower.  TIP: Don't re-ink the stamp every time, so you have two colors of leaves.
• Add some curly Daffodil Delight images to fill in the spaces.

I mounted the stamped piece onto a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" layer of Old Olive Card stock.

 

Ribbon—I wrapped some Daffodil Delight Double-Stitched Ribbon around the focal point, tied it into a double-knot and trimmed.  It's popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals.

 

 

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Happy Birthday Gorgeous greeting in Dapper Denim onto Whisper White card stock, then punched it with the Pretty Label Punch.  I punched a second Pretty Label shape from Old Olive card stock, cut it in half up the middle, then re-positioned the two halves to make borders on the sides.  They are secured in position with SNAIL, then the label is popped up over the ribbon.

 

Finishing Touches—My favorite part of the card are the little Glitter Enamel Dots!  They are pretty little bubbles of sparkly color goodness!  I added a couple in Dapper Denim and one in Daffodil Delight.

 

 

Glitter Enamel Dots Are Too Cool!  The Glitter Enamel Dots follow the gradated color theme of the Color Theory suite, so each line of color dots is a little bit lighter as you move up the sheet of dots. That means that it opens up the color possibilities to more than just the four basic colors of Dapper Denim, Daffodil Delight, Berry Burst and Old Olive colors. The varying colors will also coordinate with Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Island Indigo, So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Pink Pirouette, Sweet Sugarplum, Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.  Wow!

 

 

Two Cool—My second card uses a different Color Theory color combination. This time, the card base and color swatches are in Berry Burst. 

 

 

I stamped the outline flowers in Berry Burst, too, and filled them in with Powder Pink solid images.  The greeting and Glitter Dots are also in Berry Burst colors.  So pretty!
