Happy Thoughts Birthday Fun-Fold Cards
I love a good twist on the traditional hand-made card style and this is a fun alternative! It's a flat card base with a smaller card mounted on the front. It's easy to make and is a fantastic way to feature pretty papers like the ones in the Flower & Field Designer Series Paper pack. Remember, you can earn that paper as a Sale-a-Bration FREE selection for a $50 order!
Background Basics—This card begins with a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" Cherry Cobbler card base layered with a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Flower & Field DSP. The second part of the card base is a 4" x 6" piece of Cherry Cobbler, scored at the 3" mark and mounted in the center of the card base with SEAL adhesive.
Card Front—I decorated the front of the smaller card with a 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock embossed with the Ornate Floral Folder. I added a little 3-3/4" x 1/2" strip of contrasting Flower & Field DSP across the bottom half.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Happy Thoughts greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a Basic White Stitched Shapes oval. It's layered onto a Granny Apple Green scalloped oval die-cut with the Layering Ovals Dies. The label is popped up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I tied some White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the mini card and added a single Merry Merlot Holiday Rhinestone to the sentiment.
Inside The Card—Here's a peek of the inside of the card. If you're not a fan of writing much in a card…this one's for you! Add a lovely sentiment and you're good to go!
Two Cool—The companion card begins with a Just Jade card base and a 5-1/4" x 4" Just Jade embossed layer, using the Ornate Floral.
Mini Card—I selected a matching Flower & Field DSP pattern for the front and changed the strip to Bumblebee cardstock. The sentiment is layered onto a Flirty Flaming scallop oval and highlighted with a Mango Melody Holiday Rhinestone. Sweet wishes!
