Happy Thoughts Flower & Field Strips Cards
I want to give a shout-out to my friend, Sandy Carlson, who sent me the swap card I used to CASE these sweet strip cards! Never, do not ever, throw away those extra strips of Designer Series Paper! Instead, combine them to create an adorable background for any sentiment and you've got a super-quick card!
Background Basics—I selected four coordinating Flower & Field Designer Series Papers measuring 1" x 3" for the background on this card. I adhered the strips onto a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Basic White, spaced about 1/8" apart. Next, I tied some Just Jade In Color Twill Ribbon around the layer, tying it in a double-knot. It's mounted onto a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Basic Black, then adhered to the Shaded Spruce card base.
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Happy Thoughts greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a 2-3/4" x 3/4" strip of Basic White, then fishtail cut one end. The banner is popped up with Dimensionals, positioned flush with the edge of the strips. I finished by adding a couple of Shaded Spruce Holiday Rhinestone Jewels.
Two Cool—I selected four different coordinating patterns from the Flower & Field DSP for this second card.
Card Décor—This time I tied the background with the Bumblebee Gingham Trim and stamped a different sentiment from Happy Thoughts. The Merry Merlot Holiday Rhinestones look great with the Cherry Cobbler card base.
