Healing Hugs Two-Color Roses Cards

The large DisINKtive rose image in the Healing Hugs stamp set is perfect for doing a little two-color sponging! It's so easy to get a beautifully blended, two-color look!

Background Basics—I started by adhering a 1" x 5-1/2" strip of Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper down the side of a Petal Pink card base.

Two-Color Sponging—I stamped the roses and leaves onto a 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White. For the roses, I started by inking the entire image in the lighter Petal Pink ink, then I used a Sponge Dauber to dab on some Flirty Flamingo ink onto the center of the rubber flower image. When I stamped it on the cardstock, it looks AMAZING! Remember, you'll have to ink and sponge each time you want to stamp the image.

Next, I stamped the leaf image in Pear Pizzazz next to the roses to fill in some of the blank spaces. The layer is adhered to a 3" x 5-1/2" piece of Pear Pizzazz.

Finishing Touches—I tied some Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon around the layers before adhering them to the card front.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Healing Hugs greeting in Old Olive ink onto a Whisper White Stitched Shapes die-cut and popped it up with Dimensionals. I added a single Champagne Rhinestone Jewel for a little matching sparkle. It's so SO pretty!

Two Cool—The second card begins with a 1" x 5-1/2" strip of the 2019-2021 In Color 6" x 6" Seaside Spray Designer Series Paper.

Focal Point—I inked up the flower in Seaside Spray ink first. Then, rather than adding the Highland Heather ink in the center, I dabbed it onto the outer edges of the rose for a little bit different look.

Finishing Touches—This time, I tied the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon around the layers and adorned the sentiment with silver Metallic Pearls. I love how the pearls have kind of a bluish tone so they really match the Seaside Spray color.
