Heart Happiness Sneak Peak Cards

There are two lovely heart stamp sets coming in the Occasions Catalog that are perfect for Valentine's Day or any love-themed projects! They are both part of the amazing Painted With Love suite of products!

Sneak Peek #1—The first card begins with by adding some strips of decorative paper along the bottom of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock. I started with the Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, adding a 4" x 1/2" strip of the striped pattern and 4" x 1" painted pattern at the very bottom.

Painted With Love DSP is "specialty" because it has two each of six patterns that have beautiful gold foil patterns on them. PLUS, Stampin' Up! has printed additional patterns on the flipsides of the sheet, too! This is a NEW thing! Usually, there are only foil printed patterns on one side, so now you have 6 more options! Woohoo!

Sneak Peek #2—Next, I added a 4" x 3/4" strip of Gold Foil that was embossed with one of the two new small folders in the Petal Pair Texture Impressions Folder. One of the folders is this pretty floral and the other is a striped vines texture. So cool!

Sneak Peek #3—I stamped a sentiment from the new Petal Palette stamp set in VersaMark ink, then embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder just above the decorative papers.

Sneak Peek #4—Next, I wrapped some new Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon around the layer and tied it into a double-knot before mounting the entire layer onto a Powder Pink card base.

Sneak Peek #5—I stamped the Heart Happiness floral heart image in VersaMark onto Whisper White card stock, then colored it in using Stampin' Blends markers. While I didn't do any shading on this image, the brush tip ends of the Blends work particularly well for coloring in small areas like these with rich color! I colored with light Old Olive, light & dard Calypso Coral, light & dark Rich Razzleberry Blends markers, as well as the Powder Pink Stampin' Write marker.

TIP: The alcohol in the Blends markers will break down the embossing powder, leaving it dull and gray, if you color over it too much. That's another reason why I chose not to shade on this image. The embossing will be fine if you lightly color over it with a single layer of color.

I die-cut the heart with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits, then popped up the image with Dimensionals. I LOVE how this turned out! The look reminds me of the gold-painted colored images on a porcelain vase!

Two Cool—On my second version, I used the same basic elements on a horizontal orientation and mounted everything on a Whisper White card base.

This time, I started with the Gold Foil strip, then selected the gold heart flipside of the second Painted With Love DSP strip. It's hard to use the backsides of the foil patterns when they are so awesome!
