Heartfelt Hellos Off-Set Gate-Fold Card
Here’s another class card that really spotlights the beauty of the Flight & Airy DSP! Don’t forget, you have until February 29 to earn this paper for FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration!
Background Basics
My card begins with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Fresh Freesia, scored at the 3″ and 7-1/4″ marks. TIP: For a gate-fold that lines up flush, fold the card on the score lines, line up the ends so that they are flush, THEN using your Bone Folder to finish the crease.
I decorated the left front panel with a 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper and the right front panel with a 1″ x 5-1/4″ coordinating piece from the same pack.
Sweet Sentiment
I stamped the Heartfelt Hellos sentiment in Boho Blue ink onto Basic White cardstock and punched it with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. I adhered some Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon behind the punch with SEAL Adhesive, then popped it up with Dimensionals over a Fresh Freesia Nested Essentials die-cut label. The layered sentiment was then mounted onto the left panel with SEAL Adhesive.
Finishing Touches
I die-cut a Basic White leafy branch with the Stippled Roses Dies, cut off a small part of it so it is in two parts. I tucked the larger piece under the upper left hexagon and the smaller piece under the lower right hexagon, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I finished with a few Iridescent Pearls.
Heartfelt Hellos Scene Fold Card
The beautiful card was created by Vicki Koltiska and, while it looks very similar to mine above, it actually has a super-cool fold that creates a full “scene” with the Flight & Airy DSP.
Background Basics
Vicki’s card begins with the traditional 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Pecan Pie card base, scored at 1-1/2″ and 4-1/4″. The base is folded in half like a regular card, then the front panel is folded back into a modified Z-fold look.
Vicki decorated the front left side of the card with a 1″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Flight & Airy DSP layered onto a 1-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Basic White. She also created a larger front panel that has a 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Flight & Airy DSP onto a 2-7/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Basic White. This panel is adhered to the folded-back panel.
The Inside Scene
Here’s the cool part! When you open the card, the front panel swings around to become the first of three DSP panels. It looks awesome with this delightful paper, and especially extraordinary with any DSP that may have a scene on it, because it creates a continuous picture across the panels. Love it!
The middle panel is a 1″ x 5-1/4″ piece of DSP onto a 1-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Basic White. The final piece is a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Basic White, with a 1-3/4″ x 5-3/8″ piece of DSP on the left side and a Heartfelt Hellos sentiment stamped in Pecan Pie on the right side.
Sweet Sentiment
Vicki finished the front of her card by stamping the Heartfelt Hellos sentiment in Pecan Pie ink onto a Basic White Nested Essentials die-cut. She folded some Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon behind the label before popping it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches
To finish the card, Vicki added a few of the Pool Party Opaque Faceted Gems under the sentiment, along with Pecan Pie Opaque Faceted Gems on the top left panel.
