Heartfelt Sympathy Brick Wall Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

Today has been a busy day of dividing up orders from my BOGO event and cutting & packing up Designer Series Paper for my Paper Share!  Whew!  Lots of work, but it feels so good to get stamping goodies into the hands of my stamping friends!

I did make some time to play a little more with White Embossing Powder again tonight.  This time, I was inspired by a pretty card featured on page 26 of the 2015-2015 Annual Catalog.  Here it is:

This example features the Thoughts & Prayers (clear, wood) stamp set.  Here is my take on this pretty project!

Heartfelt Sympathy Brick Wall Cards

Heartfelt sympathy wall - two cool

I wanted to try out my new Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set and I thought the pretty sentiments would be the perfect size for this card design!

Heartfelt sympathy wall - taupe

Brick Wall Background—I started with a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White that I die-cut with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits to create a window in the center.  Then, I embossed the piece with the new, and may I say fabulous, Brick Wall embossing folder.  I can see lots of fun Brick Wall cards in my future!  Love, Love, LOVE that folder!

Embossed Sentiment—I inked up the Heartfelt Sympathy image in VersaMark ink and stamped it onto the center of the Tip Top Taupe card base.  I sprinkled White Embossing Powder over the top of the stamped image, tapped off the excess and heated with a Heat Tool until glossy & smooth.

Alignment TIP: Since the image is too large to stamp through the window, I laid the brick wall on the card front, then positioned the stamp over the top and pulled the embossed piece away to stamp. If you don't feel comfortable with that, simple stamp on a scrap piece of Tip Top Taupe, then position it in the window with Dimensionals before adhering to the card front.

Recessed Window—After embossing, I popped the embossed layer over the top with about a gazillion Dimensionals.  I adore that recessed window look!

Lace Trim—I wanted a little texture on the card, so I trimmed some Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace just above the second row of dots from the scallops.  I added a strip of the amazingly easy-to-use Tear & Tape Adhesive across the brick texture, then laid down the lace over the top.  It fit perfectly and I couldn't feel any adhesive through the lace!  I trimmed the ends flush to the edge of the bricks with Paper Snips.

Embossed Bitty Butterfly—I white embossed another small Heartfelt Sympathy leafy image onto Tip Top Taupe scrap card stock, then punched over the top with the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  It's attached with a Glue Dot and finished with Pearl Jewels.

Heartfelt sympathy wall - mint

Two Cool—For my second version, I tried a Mint Macaron version, just like the catalog sample.

Oval Window—I stamped a different greeting from the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set and it fit better in the Oval Collections Framelits die-cut window.  I also tried the window a little off-center, adding the matching lace to the left side.

Embossed Petite Petals—Instead of a Bitty Butterfly, I stamped & embossed a couple of Petite Petals flowers and punched them with the Petite Petals Punch.  Both are added with Glue Dots and topped with Pearl Jewels.
