Hello Ladybug Accordion Fold Cards
I love a good fun-fold card and this one is Too Cool! It's called the accordion-fold card and it's much easier to make than you might think.
Background Basics—This one starts with a 5-1/4" x 11 piece of Magenta Madness card base that's scored at the 1-3/4", 3-1/2", 5-1/2" and 7". Accordion fold at the score lines, then mount the back of the large panel to a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic Black. The Hello Ladybug sentiments are stamped on the inside layer in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 3-3/4" x 5". The smaller greeting will be seen when the card is closed and the larger one will be hidden when closed.
Pretty Panels—I decorated the first and third (front showing) panels with 1-1/2" x 2" pieces of Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (from the host selections). Then, I cut a 2-1/2" x 5" piece of Magenta Madness, scored it at the 2-1/2" mark. I added 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" squares of coordinating Pattern Party DSP to both sides, then adhered it to the card base. TIPS: Line up the score line of the small piece to the middle score line of the main card base. Adhere only on the ends of the small piece, attaching them to the edge of the first and fourth panels. Little Ladybug—I stamped the Hello Ladybug body in Memento Black ink onto Basic White and the wings in Memento Black and Magenta Madness. I punched those out, adhered the body with SEAL Adhesive and the wings with Dimensionals. I finished with a few Matte Black Dots floating around the ladybug. So cute!
Two Cool—The second card was created by Marcia Gay and was the card that I CASEd for my card above. Thanks for the awesome idea, Marcia! Hers has a Real Red card base and she used different patterns from the Pattern Party DSP.
Little Ladybug—This bug is pointing in the opposite direction as mine and is stamped with Real Red on the wings.
