Hello Ladybug Bug Me Anytime Cards
Two super-cute, super-quick cards that show some versatility with the Ladybug Builder Punch!
Background Basics – I embossed a 1-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic Black with the dot texture from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder. This pair of smaller embossing folders are designed to be used with the Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, now on sale for 20% off. There are several other pairs of small embossing folders that you can use with the Mini cutter and you'll see a "MINI" logo on the catalog page to verify that it fits.
I adhered the embossed piece onto a Real Red card base. Next, I adhered a 4" x 3" piece of Pattern Party Designer Series Paper to a 4-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Basic White cardstock. I tied some Real Red Stitched Ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Pack around the layers, then mounted it onto the card front.
Sweet Ladybug – I used the handy Ladybug Builder Punch to punch a Basic Black body and Real Red wings for the ladybug. I stamped the Hello Ladybug black dots onto the wings with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then brushed them and the head with clear Wink of Stella. I popped it up with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment – I stamped the Hello Ladybug sentiment in Memento Black ink onto a 2-1/2" x 1/2" piece of Basic White, fishtail cut one end, then popped it up with more Dimensionals.
Two Cool – I used the same card layout to make a fun bumblebee card, with the help of that Ladybug Punch! This time, I embossed a Bumblebee panel with the Hives 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to a Basic Black card base. The patterned background is the same, and this one is tied with Bumblebee Gingham Trim.
Bitty Bee – I punched a Basic Black and Bumblebee bug body with the Ladybug Builder Punch. Then I cut the Bumblebee one into strips and adhered some of the strips back onto the Black bug. Next, I punched wings from Vellum cardstock, attached it to the bee with SEAL Adhesive and brushed the wings with Wink of Stella. It's popped up with Dimensionals and finished with two Rhinestone Jewel eyes.
