Hey Chick Funky Chicken Cards
I love that funky chicken from the Hey Chick stamp set! His fluffy comb is the BEST! And, I also love that little wooden sign die-cut! A perfect addition for a barnyard or cornfield scene!
Background Basics—This card begins with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder and mounted onto an Early Espresso card base. I added a 4" x 1-1/2" strip of World of Good Designer Series Paper and topped it with a 4" x 1/2" strip of Poppy Parade cardstock.
Funky Chick—I stamped the Hey Chick image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and colored it with Stampin' Blends Markers I used Ivory and Cinnamon Cider for the chicken feathers, Poppy Parade for the plume and comb, and Pumpkin Pie for the beak and feet. I die-cut the image with the Chicks Dies and popped it up with Dimensionals onto a Basic White Stitched Shapes circle die-cut.
Sweet Sign—I die-cut a little Crumb Cake sign post with the Chicks Dies and stamped a Hey Chick sentiment on it with Early Espresso ink. It's adhered to the circle with SEAL adhesive.
Finishing Touches—I tied a bow with the Snail Mail Twine and attached it with a pinched Glue Dot. Then, I colored a few Rhinestone Jewels with a Poppy Parade Blends Marker and added them to the sign and along the Poppy Parade cardstock strip.
Two Cool—On the second version, I switched the embossed background to Crumb Cake and mounted it onto a Mossy Meadow card base. The DSP is from Ice Cream Corner and the Poppy Parade strip is the same.
Funky Cornfield Chick—This funky chicken is colored with Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody Blends, along with Poppy Parade and Pumpkin Pie.
Sweet Sign—The Sahara Sand signpost has a different greeting, this time stamped in Mossy Meadow.
Corn Stalk—Both the Chick Dies and the Birthday Chick Dies have lots of fun, detailed die-cuts that help to create a barnyard or farm scene. The corn stalk in the Chick Dies are one awesome example! The stalk and little husks are die-cut from Old Olive cardstock and the corn cobs are die-cut from So Saffron. I adhered the stalk with Liquid Multipurpose Glue and the cobs and husks with Glue Dots. How fun and so easy to assemble!
