The fun Chick Dies fence die-cut gives just the right touch to these simple Hey Chick birthday cards! Which color combo do you like best?
Background Basics—I started by embossing a4-1/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Sahara Sand cardstock with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder and mounting it onto a Rococo Rose card base. I think that texture looks like a cobblestone road, don't you? I die-cut a Soft Suede Chicks Dies fence, cut it in half and adhered each half to the outer edge of the card front.
Next, I adhered a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Rococo Rose Oh So Ombré Designer Series Paper to a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Basic White. That Oh So Ombré 6×6" DSP is another cool selection from the Sale-a-Bration flyer that you can choose for FREE with a $50 order! The layers are popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front.
Birthday Chick—I stamped the Hey Chick image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and colored him in with Ivory, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie and Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends Markers. It's die-cut with the Chicks Dies and popped up with Dimensionals. He's dressed up for his birthday with a Love You Always Rococo Rose Foil bow tie that's die-cut with the Birthday Chick Dies. It's attached with a Glue Dot.
Sweet Sentiment—I die-cut the birthday sentiment in the same Love You Always foil using the Birthday Chick Dies and adhered it with Liquid Multipurpose Glue.
Two Cool—I used the same basic layout on the second card with a very different color combination. I started with Basic Gray cobblestone adhered onto a Basic Gray card base. The fence is in Gray Granite this time.
Birthday Chick—I stamped the Hey Chick image directly onto a 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" layer of Basic White and colored it in with Smoky Slate, Gray Granite, Pumpkin Pie and Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Markers. It's popped up over a 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Berry Delightful DSP.
Finishing Touches—I die-cut the birthday sentiment in Basic Black and added a Basic Black bow-tie to finish this birthday chick.
