High Tide Layered Sentiment Cards

The last pair of cards from my High Tide Stamp-of-the-Month Kit feature a sentiment as the focal point, layered over a light version of the lighthouse.  What a beautiful card to send to a kind friend, or even as Father's Day card.

Background Basics—I absolutely adore the water images from the High Tide stamp set!  I think the background waves are my favorite part of this card!  I stamped the large wave image in Island Indigo ink nearly half way up a 3" x 5-1/2" panel of Island Indigo card stock.  I added a 1/2" x 5-1/2" strip of striped paper from the retired Neutrals Designer Series Paper stack to a 3-3/8" x 5-1/2" Basic Black layer for a little "pop", then I adhered the waves layer to it.

Burlap Twine—The Burlap Ribbon give perfect texture to nautical cards!  I cut the threads apart, then wrapped 3 of them around the layers and tied them into a double-knot.  Then, I mounted the whole background onto a Soft Suede card base.

Layered Lighthouse—I inked up the lighthouse image in Soft Suede ink, then stamped off one time to created the lighter image.  I repeated the same stamped-off look with the second lighthouse stamp.  All of the other cards I've done feature the two steps of the lighthouse in two different colors, but it really looks phenomenal when both layered images are in the same color!

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the High Tide sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink over the top, then die-cut the images with the Layering Ovals Framelits.  It's popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals and adorned with Rhinestone Jewels.

Two Cool—The second card switches up the colors for another nautical combo!

High Tide Ordinary Moment - cherry 2

I stamped the waves in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Cherry Cobbler card stock.  The lighthouse is inked in Island Indigo, then stamped off once for of the two images.  The stripes are Black and the card base is Island Indigo.  What calming & relaxing ocean card!
