Last night I had my first-ever group Demonstrator Orientation for my four new recruits who signed up with that Simply Amazing Starter Kit offer—Jen, Carie, Connie, and Kari! How exciting that I had so many new Too Cool Demo Team members that I had to create an informal training event for them! Usually, I do one-on-one training, but I really enjoyed having all the ladies there asking questions and adding to the discussion.
Each of my new recruits received a welcome gift from me, including a hand-stamped card.
My card design was CASEd from Kimberly Van Diepen's I'm Here For You card (the smaller card shown here). I added more Cherry Cobbler to my card, mounted everything on a Crumb Cake card base, and made a few other minor adjustments, but it's basically the same.
I'm not a black & red kinda gal—usually. But I'd have to say that I'm really enjoying the Love Letter Designer Series Paper with all of its beautifully elegant patterns.
Before adhering the large red polka dot paper, I stamped on it with the large flourish from the Always Elegant stamp (shown above) in Crumb Cake, then sponged around the edges in the same color. (click to enlarge the photo for a closer look)
I used the cute Aviary bird set for the focal piece (click the image on the right to see the detail even better).
I also stamped the Always Elegant background behind the cage, and sponged the edges in Crumb Cake ink.
I added three Basic Pearls to the top of the cage—I love adding them to these cute cages for some reason (somebody stop me before I add one to the top and more on the bottom swirly designs)!
I wrapped Linen Thread around the bottom to coordinate with the Crumb Cake color.
Other supplies used: Cherry Cobbler Red Seam Binding, and Occasional Quotes Hostess Set and Modern Label Punch for the sentiment.
Oooo, I almost forgot about my stamped envelope! (See Peggy, I'm trying to do more coordinating envelopes!)
I thought it was only appropriate that I use the "Inspire. Create. Share" stamp from the Charming stamp set. That was our theme at Convention last year!
And, speaking of convention, I stamped the inside of the card with an exclusive "Share What You Love" demonstrator stamp that I purchased at Momento Mall at this year's Convention.
These little extras really add a nice touch to the card!
Family Recovery Update
I'm so happy to report that, after more than a month in the hospital, my dad is finally finishing up his recovery at home and getting stronger every day! I'm so thankful that he had very few, and only minor, complications this time. My grandma is also slowly recovering, and should be back home with some live-in help by the weekend. I appreciate all of the prayers and well wishes for both of them! 🙂
Thanks for visiting today!
