In Color Club—Berry Burst Flower Collage Cards

Hi Stamping Friends!

I'm kicking off this week by sharing the 4th set of cards from my In Color Club!  The Club is a fantastic way to purchase all of the popular In Color products little-by-little in affordable kits, but my favorite parts of the Club are the fun monthly projects featuring lots of brand new products!

Today, I'm spotlighting the cards that Club participants will be creating during their Berry Burst month.  You can find details on three more colors here: Lemon Lime Twist month, Fresh Fig month and Powder Pink month.

Berry Burst Flower Die-Cut Collage Cards!

During the In Color Club's Berry Burst month, participants will get to play with die-cuts and embossed textures from 7 different tools!  It just goes to show you how awesomely (It's a word!) that Stampin' Up! products coordinate with each other!  Club participants will receive all the pre-cut supplies to make these four darling cards.

Background Basics—I embossed the 5-1/4" x 4" Very Vanilla card stock layer with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder, then mounted it on a Berry Burst card base.

TIP: I recommend adhering any textured layered with Tear & Tape for a secure hold.  I live in a humid area and the raised textures tend to pull away if I don't use a strong adhesive.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped a sentiment from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set in Berry Burst ink onto a 5-1/4" x 1-3/4" strip of Very Vanilla, then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.  A little 5-1/4" x 1/4" strip of Gold Foil adds a little shine.  I like using little, light dabs of Multipurpose Glue to adhere skinny pieces like that.

Fantastic Flowers—I gathered up some of my favorite die-cuts to create a bouquet of "outline" flowers.  TIP: Use the Precision Base Plate and Die Brush for successful cutting of the intricate die-cuts.

  • Flirty Flamingo large flower die-cut from May Flowers Framelits.
  • Sweet Sugarplum large flower layer die-cut from May Flower Framelits. (no Precision Plate on this one!)
  • Gold Foil large flower center die-cut from Flourish Thinlits.
  • Lemon Lime Twist leaf die-cut from May Flowers Framelits.
  • Berry Burst flower die-cut from Rose Garden Thinlits.

All of the flowers are attached with Glue Dots, except the large Flirty Flamingo flower is popped up with Dimensionals.  I finished each flower with a Pearl Jewel.

Two Cool—I changed the second card to a vertical orientation. This time the sentiment layer measures 4" x 2-1/4" and it has a 4" x 1/4" strip of Silver Foil.  It's layered on a 4" x 5-1/4" Very Vanilla background that embossed with a brand new Dynamic Texture Impressions Folder called Pinewood Planks.

Can you see the gorgeous wood texture?  Click on the photo to enlarge it to see it up close.  Beautiful!

I changed the center of the flower to have Peekaboo Peach & Silver Foil layers, and Rhinestones instead of Pearls.

Three Cool—This card is very similar to the first card, except that I changed the large flower to Bermuda Bay with a Peekaboo Peach center.  I also tried another new embossed background—Garden Trellis!  Ooooh!  This is going to look amazing behind any flower design!  Beautiful texture!

Four Cool—On this final vertical card, I changed the background to a Seaside Embossed texture, and went back to silver & rhinestone accents.  What a delightful set of cards!  I hope my In Color Club participants enjoy playing with all of these fun layers!
