In The Pines Patchwork Pine Tree Cards

This is one of the three designs we'll be making in the In The Pines Countdown To Christmas Class. I am providing two different colors of card backgrounds, then you can use the 'Tis The Season 6×6" Designer Series Paper in your kit to mix & match your favorite red & green patchwork background. I'll give you four options, but there are all kinds of possibilities!

Background Basics—Two of the four patchwork cards begin with a Whisper White Thick card base and a Mint Macaron textured element. The 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Mint Macaron on the first card is embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder…one of my faves for this season! I stamped the In The Pines greeting in Cherry Cobbler ink along the bottom of the card base.

Patchwork Blocks—I selected two each of two patterns of 'Tis The Season DSP for my blocks, each measuring 1-1/2" x 2". I tried to select one green pattern along with a red pattern; one more striped or plaid and one more "flowery" patterned. I adhered them to a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White, then adhered it to the card front with SEAL adhesive.

Pretty Pines—I stamped the two In The Pines outline tree images in Shaded Spruce onto Whisper White cardstock, then stamped the "fill" two-step image in Mint Macaron ink. Before the ink dried completely, I used a Wink of Stella glimmer brush to color over the image. The color bleeds a little bit to soften and spread the filled color, while the shimmer is being added. I die-cut the trees with the coordinating Pine Woods Dies.

Finishing Touches—I adhered the larger pine tree die-cut to a Whisper White Stitched Shapes circle, then popped up the skinnier tree with Dimensionals over the top. I finished by attaching a Linen Thread bow to the larger tree trunk with a Glue Dot.

Two Cool—The second style starts with a Crumb Cake card base and a textured strip in the same color. This time, the 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" Crumb Cake strip is embossed with one of the Wrapped In Texture mini embossing folders with a weave pattern.

I selected two different patterns of 'Tis The Season DSP on this one. Everything else is just like the first card.

Three Cool—The third card is another Crumb Cake card base with a Brick & Mortar 3D embossed texture and two more DSP patterns.

Four Cool—The final card in this group has the Thick Whisper White card base with a Mint Macaron piece embossed with the other Wrapped In Texture Mini Embossing Folder. Two more patterns from the DSP, too, and still many more combinations from which to choose! So fun & festive!
