Inked & Tiled Marker Colored Floral Cards

The direct-to-stamp marker technique is one of my favorites from way back when I first started stamping! It works so beautifully with the Inked & Tiled stamp set, too! And, don't forget that their are brand new Stampin' Write Markers now available with an improved brush-tip end and a re-designed fine bullet-tip end that allows you to write your inside messages in coordinated color ink!

Background Basics—This card begins with a 5-1/2" x 7-1/2" piece of Crushed Curry, scored at the 3-1/4" mark. I adhered a 3" x 5-1/4" piece of Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper onto the front, then added a 4" x 3/4" strip of Calypso Coral across the bottom. It's adhered along the card front and the edge hangs over the part of the inside card that shows. I added a 1" x 5-1/4" strip of Inked Botanicals DSP along the inner edge of the card's inside for a lovely contrasting pattern.

Floral Focal Point—I used Stampin' Write Markers in Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon to color directly onto the stamp, then stamped the colored image onto a Very Vanilla Nested Essentials die-cut. It's popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped an Inked & Tiled sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink onto the smallest Stylish Shapes square die-cut in Very Vanilla. It's layered onto an Inked & Tiled punched shape in Crushed Curry cardstock. I adhered it with a combination of SEAL and Mini Dimensionals. I finished by adding a few yellow Iridescent Pastel Gems around the card front.

Inside The Card—On the inside, I colored the smaller flower with the same Stampin' Write Markers and stamped them onto a 3" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. The perfect touch!

Two Cool—My second card has a Lost Lagoon card base in the same dimensions. I added a Lost Lagoon pattern of Inked Botanicals DSP to the front, and a multicolored pattern to the inside. The strip is once again in Calypso Coral.

Floral Focal Point—This time, I colored the floral image the same way, but stamped it onto a larger Very Vanilla Nested Essentials die-cut and popped it up centered over the card front, rather than overlapping the edge.

Sweet Sentiment—The sentiment is identical to the first card, because it's the only one that fits nicely in that Stylish Shapes square. Adorned with a few yellow Iridescent Pastel Gems, too.
