Inked & Tiled Just A Note Card

The Inked & Tiled stamp set and coordinating Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper is so beautiful! I couldn't wait to start playing with the stamps and paper, but to be honest, I wasn't really sure whether I would like the Inked & Tiled Punches duo-pack. I wasn't sure what to do with the star and cross shapes. So when I created this swap card, I challenged myself to use the punches in two unique ways.

Background BasicsI started by adhering a 1-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Inked Botanicals DSP to a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Pebbled Path cardstock. I punched two  Inked & Tiled cross shapes from Crushed Curry cardstock, then trimmed off two of the sides to make each shape into a "v" shape. I adhered them onto the back of the Pebbled Path piece at the top left and bottom right to look like photo corners, then mounted the layers onto a Lost Lagoon card base.

Marker Stamped Focal Point—I used the brush-tip end of Stampin' Write Markers to color directly onto the Inked & Tiled stamp to get a multi-colored stamped image. I used Crushed Curry for the flowers, Pebbled Path for the stem and Lost Lagoon for the leaves. Once the stamp was colored, I huffed on the stamp, then stamped the image onto a 2" x 4-3/4" piece of Basic White. I added a 1/2" x 4-3/4" strip of Wild Wheat cardstock under the left side of the Basic White piece, then tied some Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon around the layers into a double-knot. I adhered it with SEAL onto the right side of the Pebbled Path piece on the card front.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Inked & Tiled sentiment in Pebbled Path directly onto a Crushed Curry pattern of Inked Botanical DSP, then punched it out with the cross Inked & Tiled punch shape. I used my Paper Snips to trim away the top and bottom to turn it into a cute little banner. It's popped up with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—I added some Iridescent Pearls floating around the flower image to finish this stunning and understated card.

Inked & Tiled Hello Friend Card

I received this lovely swap card from Barb Mullikin and she used the same marker technique on her card.

Background Basics—Barb started by embossing the 4" x 5-1/4" Calypso Coral piece with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder. She added a 4" x 1" strip of Les Shoppes Designer Series Paper across the layer, then mounted it onto a Calypso Coral card base. She finished by adding a piece of the Natural 1/4" Wavy Trim along the top of the DSP. I love that natural texture element!

Floral Focal Point—Barb colored her large Inked & Tiled flower stamp with Stampin' Write Markers in Calypso Coral and Old Olive and stamped it on a 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock. She added the smaller flower colored with Lost Lagoon and Old Olive. It's layered onto a 2-3/8" x 4-3/8" piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock and adhered to the card front with SEAL Adhesive.

Sweet Sentiment—Barb die-cut two banner shapes, in Calypso Coral and Basic White, using the Nested Essentials Dies. She stamped an Inked & Tiled sentiment on the white one with Lost Lagoon ink, trimmed off the end, then layered it onto the Calypso Coral banner. Oooh! I love this cool, highlighted banner end! How clever!
