One of my favorite things about getting a new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog is seeing the brand new In Colors! The new selection is very bright and summer-looking and I can't wait to see how they combine with other Stampin' Up! colors.
How The In Color Rotation Works
Each year we get five fun and trendy colors that are available for two years! Last year, with the Color Renovation, the new In Color rotation began with five colors that are available from 2010-2012. This new group of five makes 10 total In Colors for the new catalog, and that's how many we will have every year from now on. Next year, five new ones come in, and the 2010 ones will be retired. I love that the colors stay around for two years and adding a few every year keeps the whole Color Collection fresh and interesting!
New 2011-2013 In Colors Comparison Charts
On the comparison charts below, I'm showing the new color in the upper left-hand corner, surrounded by current and retired colors. The "R" on the lower right corner of the butterfly indicates that it's an retired color. And, remember, between my camera settings and photo editing, and your screen calibration, the colors will not be totally accurate, but you'll get a good idea!

Wisteria Wonder
A lovely, light grayish purple that works beautifully with Concord Crush. If you remember the old Vintage Violet (shown bottom right), it's a lighter version of that. It's not like any of the purples we currently have available. I'm SO very happy that they created a light purple, because there was definitely a void in the purple selection.
Lucky Limeade
A medium bright green that reminds me a bit of the old Kiwi Kiss, which I adored! This one is a little more "blue" than Kiwi Kiss, and it's a little darker than Pear Pizzazz. It looks terrific with in combination with the rest of the new In Colors!
Calypso Coral
This is a pretty medium orange shade that is a little more "blue" than our current Pumpkin Pie. It is kind of a lighter shade of Poppy Parade, so it pairs with that very nicely. I thought it would be similar to the old Groovy Guava, but it's much darker than that color.
Pool Party
This one is a light aqua color that's a bit lighter than Baja Breeze. It reminded me of the old Soft Sky, but it's just a tad darker, and it's a little more "green" than the old Cool Carribbean. It's a lot different than Bashful Blue, but I wanted to show you how it compared. It goes very nicely with our next color…
Island Indigo
I love teal and turquoise colors almost as much as I love purple, so I'm excited about this one! (I think it's the color of my bridesmaid dresses from back in the day—LOL!) It's kind of a more "blue" version of the old Taken With Teal, but not as "gray" as the old Blue Bayou. It has the same color intensity as Pacific Point, but it is much more "green."
Here's a look at all of In Colors side by side—new ones on the left, current ones on the right. I think they look great together and I can't wait to experiment with new color combinations from all of the Color Collections!
